Ukraine 'hits Russian missile boat Ivanovets in Black Sea'

Source: BBC

Ukrainian forces say they have destroyed a Russian missile boat from the Black Sea Fleet in a special operation off Russian-occupied Crimea.

The Ivanovets - a small warship - received "direct hits to the hull" overnight, after which it sank, military intelligence said.

It has released video footage that purports to show the moment of impact, followed by a big explosion.
...
However, Russian military blogger "Voenkor Kotenok" wrote on Telegram that the boat had sunk after being hit three times by naval drones.

Video at the BBC link - it looks like it's from the 2nd or 3rd drone, since it approaches what already looks like a large hole in the hull. Small by warship standards, perhaps - Wikipedia says 183 feet long.

I think Putin's grasp of naval and air doctrine is really lacking, and I think it shows.

Report. The videos at the end are also interesting in that they show the different groups asking for help. I know the guy from Estonia raises money and delivers vehicles and equipment to Ukraine that he buys regularly. He went there this week to deliver drones to groups like those in the videos.

I hope there are others who do this whom we just don't know about. If I were financially set, I'd be putting more into it, I can only donate a little once in while.

Thanks for a more thorough video on the attack.

Looks like a good way to help their defense.

It's a frustrating time for Americans who support Ukraine. Congressional Republicans said that they support Ukraine, but want to connect it to the border. Then, when given the chance to address the border, they decline.

During these gaslit shenanigans, good people who are fighting a defensive war of tremendous historic significance are being killed when they might have lived.

It is sad to recite all the ways that Ukrainian resistance serves US interests. Sad because not enough people in Congress care about US interests. And sad because one shouldn't even have to refer to them.

In the meantime, we can at least act as civil society. Please help me finish my Safe Skies project. It funds a passive drone detection system, one that is already protecting four Ukrainian regions and is now being extended to another four. It allows Ukrainians to find Iranian-made or -modelled drones and shoot them down before they cause harm. It also works on cruise missiles. I have seen the system’s components when I was in Ukraine, and I know how it works. Like so much that the Ukrainians do, the system is very cost effective. $1.8 million was the total amount to be raised, and we are about 90% there.
