Federal agents found more than two dozen minors working in Ohio poultry plant

Source: NBC News

Federal agents found more than two dozen minors illegally working inside a poultry plant in Kidron, Ohio, earlier this month, according to local immigration advocates who spoke to NBC News on the condition of anonymity.

The children, mainly from Guatemala, according to the advocates, were working in meat processing and sanitation in a plant run by Gerber’s Poultry, which produces Amish Farm Chicken, advertised with the slogan “Better feed, better taste.”

Marisa Darden, a lawyer representing Gerber, had no comment when asked about minors working at the plant. She told NBC News, “We don’t have any comment at this time. We are cooperating, we just can’t talk about it.”

Local immigration advocates say agents from Homeland Security Investigations and the FBI surrounded the plant in the early evening of Oct. 4 and shut down traffic into and out of the plant.

They just can't talk bout it.
Now, I am assuming that the two dozen were all in the business at the time rather than spread out over a fortnight of shifts.

I’ve seen many an article that doesn’t bother with naming them.

working in the poultry plant also have a Trump sign in their yard. I wouldn't be surprised if there are also underage Amish kids working there too.

And get them processed at almost any slaughterhouse for a lot less than what it cost in stores.

But now, no slaughterhouse will do small batches of chicken. Here in East TN, I had to travel to another state to get my chickens processed. And that was because the slaughter house had a special grant from the state to re-introduce small batch chicken processing.

All the big chicken slaughterhouses were bought up by corporations and have exclusive contacts with the corporation to ONLY process the corporate owned farms' chickens.

Just another way corporations have unfair market controls that keep the little guy out

All those sales a corporation makes use to go to small businesses throughout the country. The corporations didn't create those markets. They stole those markets from someone else. They took those markets away from the little guys, to stop competition.

And now we are stuck with unethical, frequently illegal, inhumane food processing we all have to buy even if we don't want to.

I think we know why.

And this is exactly why Gym and other Republicans in Ohio and nationwide want to defund federal regulatory agencies and law enforcement. So they can put kids to work instead of educating them.

I'll also bet the 'Amish' connection is very tenuous. Sounds so wholesome doesn't it?

Man. This really pisses me off.

..under age children are taking good jobs away from patriotic Americans.
Who would rather be hog-tied than work at one of those places.
A lot of packing places (especially in the South) have horrible past safety records.
