George Santos' campaign fund has net loss in 2023

Source: Axios

Rep. George Santos’ (R-N.Y.) campaign finances are in a dire state, as the embattled Long Islander has had a net loss of $3,000 so far this year, according to Federal Election Commission filings.

Why it matters: Despite calls from within his own party to resign over his widespread deceptions during the last campaign, Santos hasn't ruled out running for a second term.

The New York Post reported Santos plans to announce his reelection bid as soon as Monday, even as he already faces one primary challenger.

Driving the news: Santos raised about $5,300 in the first three months of 2023 but refunded roughly $8,300 to donors during the same period, according to the filings.

I think he just wants to serve out his term so that he can say that he didn't resign in disgrace. And serving a full term as a member of congress will be an official achievement of his.

Are you saying that one term won't get him the medical plan he was hoping for?

service IIRC is the time span to get vested for a pension at age 62.

Longer serving members can get a pension at earlier ages.

As far as healthcare, they're eligible to receive employer-sponsored health insurance coverage through DC Health Link, according to Damien Brady, director of research at the National Taxpayers Union.

And one term definitely won't get him lifetime healthcare coverage.

Starve the impostor of campaign funds.

Put him on the 'ignore as not relevant' list.

Should have been done to Trump years ago.
