Oxford School shooter pleads guilty
Source: Detroit Free Press
Teenager Ethan Crumbley, who 11 months ago penned in his journal, "I will cause the biggest school shooting in Michigan's history. I have fully mentally lost it," pleaded guilty Monday to first-degree murder and terrorism charges for the bloodshed he vowed to carry out at Oxford High School four days after his parents bought him a gun.
Crumbley dropped a bombshell in admitting to his crimes, telling the judge that he gave his father money to buy him the gun that he used in the mass shooting, and that the gun was easily accessible contradicting his parents' claims that the gun was securely stored.
"It was not locked," Ethan Crumbley said in court.
James and Jennifer Crumbley are charged with involuntary manslaughter over allegations involving their son's access to the gun.

Moments after the hearing ended, Crumbley's defense lawyer, Paulette Michel Loftin, told the media he is remorseful.
He definitely is, she said We have to all remember, he is a 16-year-old boy, so a very scary situation today to be in front of a number of cameras

to be appearing in front of a judge. Hes taking accountability for his actions.
Ven Johnson, another civil lawyer who represents victim families, wasnt convinced.
Mueller said he didnt detect any remorse.
I'm frankly stunned at the lack of emotion, Mueller said. If he's going to plead guilty, I would have expected him to show some remorse in his face. And there was none. Theres no soul there. It was cold-blooded what he did, and while he may have been dealt a bad set of cards with the parents, it's still a choice that he made to do the harm and bring the tragedy to Oxford.

It's not hard to properly handle and store a gun. It's pretty easy in fact. One has to almost willfully not to do so.

I'm sure it's also a very scary situation to be a student in a school hearing the clicking of a gun reloading in front of a school shooter and wondering if you'll ever see your parents and friends again. Fuck that.
