Russian rockets slam into Ukrainian city near nuclear plant

Source: AP

By ADAM SCHRECK

KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — Russia launched two missile attacks that hit apartment blocks in the southern Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia on Thursday, killing one person and trapping at least five in the city close to Europe’s biggest nuclear power plant, the governor of the mostly Russian-occupied region said.

The missile strikes, the first before dawn and another in the morning, came just hours after Ukraine’s president announced that the country’s military had retaken three more villages in one of the regions illegally annexed by Russia, the latest battlefield reversal for Moscow.

Governor Oleksandr Starukh wrote on his Telegram channel that many people were rescued from the multi-story buildings, including a 3-year-old girl who was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Photos provided by emergency services showed rescuers scrambling through rubble in the wreckage of a devastated building looking for survivors.

The Kremlin, through State Media, controls the narrative inside Russia completely. Russians will never learn of this rocket attack on civilian targets.

Even if they knew, what would they do about it?

The US however relegates their HIMARS systems to hits within Ukraine.

The best case scenario in the interim is for Ukraine to modify its R-360 Neptune for land strikes.
I'd bet that they are working diligently on it and have A LOT of assistance.

If I was a betting man I'd say that they are in production/produced...and are patiently waiting for an opportunity for launches.

Slava Ukraine!

.... missiles were launched from Russia. Sooner or later the Ukrainian military/special forces are going to strike back inside
of Russia. The Russian people and or the military need to stop Putin ASAP. Before somebody blows up the Kremlin.

I wonder if the rockets were aimed @ the unclear power plant and missed it?

Ground attack mode.
Highly inaccurate and in that mode they have maybe a 100 mile range at best.
Russia targeted the city proper and not the nuke plant, as the nuke plant is over fifty miles from the missile impacts.

Either way it is terrorism plain and simple.
