Source: Chicago Sun-Times
A Bradley police officer was killed and another critically wounded while responding to a call at a motel Wednesday night.
Authorities have issued an arrest warrant for a suspect, Darius D. Sullivan, 25, and are offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.
The two officers were called to the Comfort Inn in the in the 1500 block of North State Highway 50 around 9:40 p.m. because dogs were barking in a car in the parking lot, according to Bradley Police Chief Donald W. Barber.
They went to the motel room where the owner of the car was believed to be and began talking to the people inside, Barber said.

(65,577 posts)Bradley is part of a trio of towns (with Bourbonnais & Kankakee) down I-57 about 70 miles south of Chicago.
There's a college there, though. Private school of around 5,000 including part time grad students.
This shooting happened about 18 miles from where we live.

This is nearly a local story for us.
The suspect(s) have been identified but that motel is a minute from the interstate.
Unless they fled on foot, they could be hundreds of miles away.
A procession is planned for the woman who got killed. Local radio said 4pm today.

(65,577 posts)The reward for information leading to the capture of the fugitive has gone from $10k to $25k.
The second officer is in critical condition but is no longer thought to be at risk of dying.
Because of the fugitive angle, Illinois State Police & the FBI are cooperating in the investigation.

(65,577 posts)That hotel in 30 seconds from interstate 57. He would have hit I-74 in about 70 minutes gone east to Indiana, or kept going to Kentucky in around 5 hours.
I think it's doubtful he was from around here, because he was staying at a motel.
Unless of course something like a drug buy was being set up.

The 2nd suspect has been identified. They are showing pix of both on Chicago news.
They are both local! One from Bradley, one from Bourbonnais. (The 2 towns border each other)
They very well could be in hiding locally!
The rewards are $10k for one, $25k for the other.

Not confirmed, but the reward seemed to have motivated someone to provide info to the cops.
I was wrong about them being from out of town, but I accurately called the part about them leaving the state.
