Community, leaders condemn anti-Semitic flyers found in Missouri City: 'We can rise beyond racism'

MISSOURI CITY, Texas (KTRK) -- Fort Bend County Judge KP George is condemning anti-Semitic flyers found in a Missouri City neighborhood.

Police said on Wednesday, Missouri City Police Department received a call from a resident who was walking through his neighborhood in what's called the Plantation area.

The resident found about 84 clear plastic bags that were of different colors. Some of the bags contained beans or rice inside, along with two different types of flyers. One had a flyer referencing the agenda of COVID-19 and allegedly blaming Jewish people. Another bag had two flyers, and some of those flyers referenced a religious practice.

Neighbors told ABC13 they were shocked, heartbroken and scared. A very concerned resident agreed to speak with ABC13 but did not want to share their name due to fear of retaliation.

Good people do not need to rise above racism. Those of human virtue and morality already soar far above beyond racists.

What is needed is a societal stomping down racism.
A scolding, shaming, shunning, scorning, sacking, slap-down of everyone who shows such sickness.

14. These are the same flyers that are popping up all over the country.

I don't know if this a organized effort (possible, but I think unlikely) or if this is the work of "lone wolves" who downloaded the flyers from Reddit and saw what happened in Austin (where it appears to have originated) and decided to do the same in their communities. Of course, most of the info is incorrect, as if facts matters to these types (they don't). It is a bit disconcerting because I feel it is signaling a rise in casual anti-Semitism, which can be devastating in the long term. It is a shame we are targeted in this way, just as it is a shame that every time an anti-Semitic attack occurs against American Jews, someone always feels the fucking need to mention Israel; and people wonder why the parallels are drawing in that arena.
