Bill Cosby defends TV wife Phylicia Rashad after she celebrated his release

Source: BBC

Bill Cosby's on-screen wife is at the centre of controversy after tweeting her support for him when his sexual assault conviction was overturned.

Phylicia Rashad, who starred in The Cosby Show, tweeted on Wednesday that "a terrible wrong has been righted".

The tweet was then removed. A follow-up post said she "fully supported sexual abuse survivors coming forward".

Cosby has defended Rashad after Howard University, where she is a dean, said her first tweet "lacked sensitivity".

I picture him forcing himself on an unconscious woman after luring her to be her mentor and friend. It makes me sick.

Trigger : sexual assault

One women flew to Reno to an isolated house. She came awake, and he was forcing himself in her mouth saying, "your friend wants to (ejaculate) ."

I go through the listings a lot, looking for something to watch (after I've seen most of the news shows twice!) and I was quite surprised to see The Cosby Show listed along with Happy Days, Andy Griffith, Gomer Pyle, etc. Roseanne is still shown frequently, too.

Often for the ultra-wealthy, protecting other members of the club exceeds everything else. Rashad’s comments are disappointing but not surprising.

My parents both died. (we are throw away people, we don't matter, so somehow their untimely death makes it probably our fault-somehow) Out of four little girls, I was the only one NOT molested. I was the younger one. I saw what happened to them. Them blamed, CPS, our Church, our School and our relatives doing nothing. And the wife of the perp covering for him, she didn't have a job and she had two children to raise. But I sure took more than a few beatings with a razor strap. I could keep my mouth shut and not call my betters "liars." CPS was called, they were not going to save us, and didn't. But I could not keep the look out of my eyes around him, in Church that is quite embarrassing apparently. I saw it destroy all three of my sisters. He never went to jail. He trained his son to be like him, and his son went to jail for child molesting twice. Needless to say, female enablers........I'ts the ultimate historical entitlement. To feed on the weak and helpless without consequence. Hugs to you. Excellent book, "The Body Keeps The Score" Bessel van der Kolk, MD. Tells you, gently, everything you need to know about trauma, and why it is the ultimate entitlement. But most importantly, how to reclaim your sense of self.

especially when we know that he is overwhelming guilty of most of those drug rapes etc. I've known that Cosby was a pig back since back in the late 1960's as a little girl, and I can't say why. Anyway, you see folks dying on these hills all over the place defending the defenseless. Look at the GQP, many of whom are still defending the racist, evil Capitol Hill rioting murderers, and who don't want them investigated. Yet, they ae not seemingly going to pay any price for that. I mean Cruz, Hawley, cavewoman Green and that ilk of filthy, un-American racists are still defending the rioters and tRump, whose also a multi-time rapist. It's all so sickening.

Which would be consistent, since a lot of his other behavior points to narcissism.

Living through the TFG presidency taught me more about how narcissists behave than I ever really wanted to know. The knowledge, I must admit, has its uses. 😒

Cosby compared the media to those who stormed the US Capitol in January, and claimed that his conviction was not overturned on a "technicality."

"Those same media insurrectionists are trying to demolish the constitution of these United State of America on this Independence Day," Cosby wrote. "No technicality - it's a violation of one's rights and we the people stand in support of Ms Phylicia Rashad."

They are close friends from an era of classic television. That doesn't change what he did, but I don't fault her for expressing happiness for someone she has personally known for a long time.

Bad people don't know when to just shut the fuck up.

Cosby wasn't released because new evidence proved he was innocent. He got out on a technicality. An outrageous one, to be sure, but, still, a technicality. The fact that Felicia Rashad said what she did was also fantastically tone deaf, and another example of not know when to just shut the fuck up. Keep quiet. Don't open your mouth.

She was stupid to say what she did, and Cosby was stupid to say thanks. People like Cosby need to just go away. Wither away, while we all wait for the obituary that opens with multiple paragraphs about his sex crimes before even mentioning his acting career.

Add too many politicians to this STFU category. Ted Cruz, Matt Gaetz, Mo Brooks, Kevin McCarthy, etc. etc. etc. You all are shells of real humans. Neurons in your brains have misfired, and you have become vile. Your "shame" module is broken. And if people around you cared a damn about any of you, they would say the same thing: Shut the Fuck Up.

quite an uncommonly comely lass, tailored pantsuits, tallish and statuesque.
Regal, soft-spoken, with just a hint of a smile. Observing her from afar, I never dared
approaching because of her vibe: calculating, above-it-all, and cold. As i-c-e.
