Derek Chauvin's body camera video shows his reaction just after Floyd left in an ambulance

Source: CNN

Moments after George Floyd was taken away in an ambulance last May, former Minneapolis Police officer Derek Chauvin was confronted by a witness who took issue with Chauvin's kneeling on Floyd's neck.

"That's one person's opinion," Chauvin responded as he got into his squad car. "We had to control this guy because he's a sizable guy. It looks like he's probably on something."

The short clip from Chauvin's own body camera, played in his criminal trial Wednesday, represents the first time the public has heard the ex-officer's perspective in the 10 months since Floyd died under his knee, launching a worldwide protest movement.

Charles McMillian, the 61-year-old witness, testified that he observed Floyd's arrest on May 25, 2020, and that he encouraged Floyd to comply with police, repeatedly saying, "you can't win." As Chauvin knelt on Floyd's neck and Floyd cried out for help, McMillian can be heard on video telling police to "get your knee off his neck."

with a mixed martial arts instructor to demonstrate choke holds. After that, the instructor showed the proper way to control Floyd was by placing the knee between the shoulders and using one hand to control the head. He also showed how a kneeling person's weight is controlled by the position of the toes. When you are kneeling with your toes forward, the pressure of your knee is light, but when you start pointing your toes backwards, then nearly your full body weight is on the person's neck.

is not even approved of to use which in this case is using your knees on someones neck.
In this case I think they went wayyyyy overboard on the amount of force that they should have used.

In another post, I said these witnesses most likely need some counseling after watching a man be murdered. They are still distressed..I cannot imagine. I’m distressed just watching.

I cry whenever I watch it still. I remember last May when I first saw the video. I told my niece, "I have never seen someone die before". I should have said that I never saw anyone "murdered" before.

Too many cowardly ass policemen (and others too) are AFRAID OF BLACK MEN.

Period.

The darker, the bigger, the more “afraid” they are.

Actually, they do not acknowledge the humanity in them.

Fuck them all.
