Trump Allies Discourage Georgia Residents From Voting In January Runoff

Georgia allies of President Trump continue to push baseless accusations of voter fraud in an attempt to have the election results overturned, following weeks of news networks, legal bodies and state certification boards affirming the election win for President-elect Joe Biden. At a rally Wednesday, they went even further, discouraging Georgia residents from voting in the Jan. 5 Senate runoff election.

Lin Wood, an attorney and prominent Trump supporter in the state, falsely alleged that the election had been "rigged." In a free-wheeling, conspiracy-laden "Stop the Steal" rally speech, Wood also spoke against Republican Sens. David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler, and urged rally attendees not to vote for the two in the runoff election.

"Do not be fooled twice. This is Georgia, we ain't dumb. We're not going to go vote on January 5th on another machine made by China. You're not going to fool Georgians again," Wood said, pushing the unfounded conspiracy theory that voting machines had been compromised in the Nov. 3 election.

"Why would you go back and vote in another rigged election? For God's sake, fix it. You got to fix it before we'll do it again," he continued to resounding cheers from the audience.

So, Trump is going to visit Georgia to campaign for Republicans in Georgia who he blames for conspiring with Democrats to rig the election in favor of Democrats. His allies are encouraging voters to vote for Republicans, because they will also support his coup attempt, while also demanding a boycott of the runoff election because it is all rigged.

I almost wish I could watch Republicans going to the polls in the runoff election. I guess I can look for voters screaming incoherently: "I HATE THE F*&* REPUBLICANS WHO BACKSTABBED OUR SAVIOR TRUMP! I HATE THEM SO MUCH! THE ELECTION IS RIGGED! SO I AM GOING TO VOTE FOR THEM TO SHOW THEM THAT I WON'T BE IGNORRRD! BUT MY VOTE WON'T COUNT BECAUSE IT IS ALL RIGGED! YEAHHH!"

Yep those hillbillies up in the GA mountains will follows their asshole leader. Just like they do with not wearing mask. The rest of Ga will vote and hopefully 51% for dems. Got my fingers crossed and have sent out a ton of postcards in GA. Will do phone banks again also in GA. We will win the senate back. Going to do my part to help. We need the rest of the country to help also. Contact your Democratic Party and help on the phone banks in Ga. Get involved in this crucial state run off. We turned GA blue for Biden so let’s turn the senate blue also. Please help !

...is using this pressure to try to get Republicans to be more vocal about supporting his coup attempt. Sadly, I think when push comes to shove, Georgia's Senators will eventually agree to go all in and insist that Georgia's electoral votes should go to Trump notwithstanding the vote.

17. tRump is effectively holding the Republicans hostage over the GA runoff

If they don't "do something" to overturn the presidential election (as if that could even happen), then he'll tank them to keep the Senate in the runoff in January.

I can totally see him holding his own "inauguration" days ahead of the GA runoff, and telling all the Republicans (especially Loeffler and Perdue) that he'll throw the election for them if they don't show up and full-throatedly say that HE won the election.
