Cook Political Report moves Senate races in Texas, Georgia, Alaska toward Democrats

Source: The Hill

The Cook Political Report on Tuesday shifted Senate races in Georgia, Texas and Alaska, all with Republican incumbents, toward Democrats.

Cook changed its rating for Alaska’s Senate race from “likely Republican” to “lean Republican.” Sen. Dan Sullivan (R-Alaska) is seeking reelection against Al Gross, an independent candidate backed by the state Democratic Party. Sullivan led by 4 points in the most recent survey, conducted Sept. 25-Oct. 4 by Alaska Survey Research, but the state has one of the least-polled Senate races.

In Texas, Cook also shifted the race from “likely Republican” to “lean Republican.” There, Sen. John Cornyn (R) faces Air Force veteran and former congressional candidate M.J. Hegar. Cornyn leads the race by an average of 7.6 points, according to the RealClearPolitics (RCP) average.

Cook also shifted Georgia’s Senate special election from “lean Republican” to “toss-up.” Sen. Kelly Loeffler (R) is defending her seat in a race that includes Rep. Doug Collins (R-Ga.) and Democratic candidates Raphael Warnock and Matt Lieberman. If no one reaches more than 50 percent of the vote, the top two will face a runoff on Jan. 5.

No. Sorry, I’ve lived here since 85. As much as I’d like to see Sullivan and Young booted (and Murkowski in 2 years) I’d caution anyone thinking this might happen.

The Lincoln project has spent some dough here, especially lately, but all the incumbent ads are fear mongering against socialist tropes and outsider money. Repellant, but the base up here is addicted to it.

Can be any ones guess but the trend remains clear. Elections are moving towards democrats and away from GOP.

I have never seen lines so long. Some people are waiting five hours or more to vote.

My absentee ballot did not come in the mail, but my husband’s did more than a week ago. If it doesn’t show up by tomorrow, I’ll join the line.

I called the county registrar and she said that a lot of people haven’t received their ballot, and to give it a couple more days. She said a company sorted the ballots for bulk mail. If it hasn’t come in nearly a month after being sent, I don’t have much hope.

If you can legally vote in person in your state (check every detail of the rules!) you will probably have to do so.

Which is a good thing. I’m not worried about voting — I would walk through broken glass, as they say. Just was looking forward to not waiting in line.

because maybe 2500 people an hour are seeing the light. It's a Great Awakening. In the stock market it is said bull markets climb a wall of worry. That's the slow, steady upward grind with everyone saying it can't be this way. Yet people continue to pile on.

It is 2018 all over again. Issues, words, organizing, phones, messaging, advertising, word-of-mouth is moving the needle. 3 weeks to go. Gimme 21 days of grinding upward.

Do you also sense we have their number? Our candidate are dishing the retorts, they are showing resolve and spine. Republicans are on the defensive. They have no issues, few retorts, no policies to defend, they worry about being blamed for this mess because they created it. Duh! Even Turtle is beginning to understand.

I expect once we are past the point of debates, in about 10-12 days, the Biden campaign will throttle up. If we finish strong we can disembowel the Republican Party, and what a party it will be for us!

Fingers crossed. Feet in motion. Resolve. No expectations. Just performance. Deliver us from this nightmare.

My mind, fingers and voice are in full out manic mode working for Truth and The America I believe in.

Down ballot is something else, but I feel the Blue Tsunami is going to wash away a lot of 'Concerned' and Incompetent Rethug criminals nationwide.

I'm more worried about KillerC's sponsored shenanigan's behind the scenes, and Barrett.

then R wins a December run-off. The D's need to figure out which of the three is best and have the others drop out now so they have a chance of a straight up win.
