Google co-founder Larry Page cedes control of parent company Alphabet to Sundar Pichai

Sundar Pichai, the CEO of Google, is being elevated to the top job at Alphabet, the holding firm overseeing the search giant and other well-known brands like YouTube, marking a major shift for one of the world’s most valuable companies.
Alphabet made the announcement Tuesday that Larry Page, a co-founder of Google, will surrender his CEO role to Pichai. Page and co-founder Sergey Brin will remain on the board.
