Alert status ends at Cooper Nuclear Station as Missouri River drops

Missouri River levels have dropped enough for a Nebraska nuclear plant to terminate its alert notification status.

The Nebraska Public Power District terminated the alert status for Cooper Nuclear Station at 4:01 p.m. Sunday.

Cooper had been under the alert designation, "Notice of Unusual Event," for nine days — since the morning of March 15.

As allowed by federal regulations, the plant continued operating the entire time.
