Trump says dog ownership in White House feels 'phony,' calls out Obama for having one
Source: MSN
President Trump has an interesting pet peeve dogs. He called out pup ownership in the White House as phony in a bizarre rant during his pro-border wall rally in El Paso, Texas Monday night.
You do love your dogs, dont you?, he asked the Maga-hat wearing crowd. I wouldnt mind having one honestly, but I dont have any time.
Trump then painted a picture of himself strolling on the grounds of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. with mans best friend. How would I look walking a dog on the White House lawn?, he asks, before grimacing and shaking his head no.
I dont know it doesnt I dont feel good, he manged to get out. Feels a little phony to me.

If FDR had time for his dogs while dealing with the Depression and Hitler while in a wheelchair, who is this heartless scumbag to claim he doesn't have time. And would look strange walking a dog.

(9,350 posts)I realize someone in the crowd supposedly called out Obama's name, but still I am beginning to wonder if Melania might have said she things Obama is sexy, or that she would have like to have sex with Obama if he were not married. There has to be a reason President Obama lives rent free in Trump head. I do not think it is because of the White House Correspondents Dinner because Trump was going after President Obama years before that incident.

(38 posts)For once I agree with Trump: He shouldn't have a dog (or any pet) as he would undoubtedly mistreat it badly (through neglect if nothing else). I cannot imagine him taking the time to actually walk any dog. Even his brief comments quoted above reveal a huge misunderstanding of what having a dog live with you requires: brief walks around the White House lawn are nowhere near enough to ensure the mental and physical best health of most dogs (with the exception of very old dogs, and... maybe... some of the tiny toy breeds).
Living with a dog is commonly known to improve quality of life for many and can teach important lessons about sharing and caring to the young. Occasionally I pity Trump for what appears to have been a horrible neglected childhood. He should have had a dog then - we'd probably all be better off now that had been the case.

So...can you imagine why Trump's dog would act out ???

Regardless, I cant help but notice just how often dogs seem to be on the presidents mind.
Last week, for example, shortly before his State of the Union address, Trump told a group of television anchors that Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam (D) choked like a dog at a press conference a few days prior.
A few weeks prior, we learned of an anecdote from Cliff Sims book in which Trump told then-House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.), in reference to the closing days of the 2016 election cycle, You were out there dying like a dog, Paul. Like a dog!
As regular readers know, its apparently one of this presidents favorite metaphors. Retired Gen. Stanley McChrystal, for example, was fired like a dog. According to Trump, so were conservative media figures Erick Erickson and Glenn Beck.
Egypts Hosni Mubarak was dropped like a dog. Steve Bannon was dumped like a dog. Mitt Romney choked like a dog. Ted Cruz lies like a dog. Brent Bozell allegedly went to Trumps office begging for money like a dog......
For a guy who doesnt want a dog, he sure does seem focused on them.
