Source: NBC News
Law enforcement sources said they began trailing Carballido Thursday after being informed of an armed home invasion earlier in the day in which he performed a lewd act on a man. At about 8 p.m., he began firing at police from his vehicle near the intersection of Northwest 72nd Avenue and Seventh Street.
The intense gunfire was captured on cellphone video by a woman on the balcony of an apartment overlooking the crime scene.
Mid-morning Friday, Miami police were knocking on the door of a home in the 8600 block of Southwest 34th Terrace. Police, who had not officially released Carballidos name, said they were trying to notify his next of kin about the mans death.

(3,146 posts)Thugs like this are why I support "habitual offender" sentence enhancements for violent offenders and "10-20-Life" type laws.
His history of violent crime spans DECADES and he has shown that he posed a continuing threat to society. Simply put he should have spent the rest of his life in prison.

(5,844 posts)But this happened a week and a half ago.
Perhaps the most significant part of this story is that the guy was a recent ex-con and had already gotten his hands on an assault rifle. Only in America.

(1,975 posts)But I did a limited search in this forum and didn't see any mention of it. I figured that it was newsworthy, that and the fact that it was one of policeone top headlines, I figured I'd add it. Id say the most significant portion of this story, is that nobody has even heard that this has happened.

(7,797 posts)I'd assume that means it didn't involve a specifically sexual act.
Maybe he urinated on the victim?

(7,797 posts)I think the legal definition of sodomy includes oral sex. I myself classify that as "rape" if forced upon an unwilling victim.
More than likely this was the news not having the details quite verified so they hedged so as not to overreach.
