Kavanaugh nomination: Judge says he is victim of ‘character assassination’ as third woman comes forward

By John Wagner

September 26 at 12:33 PM

Judge Brett M. Kavanaugh is scheduled to appear Thursday before the Senate Judiciary Committee at a high-stakes hearing. The committee will hear from Christine Blasey Ford, the woman who says President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee sexually assaulted her when both were teenagers.

Lawmakers from both parties and lawyers for Kavanaugh and Ford maneuvered for advantage on the eve of the hearing, and President Trump weighed in on the fate of his nominee.

12:15 p.m. Kavanaugh says he is victim of ‘obvious character assassination’

In his prepared testimony for Thursday’s Senate hearing, Judge Brett M. Kavanaugh says he was ‘not perfect’ in high school and drank beer with friends but strongly denies having committed sexual assault.

“In retrospect, I said and did things in high school that make me cringe now,” he says, adding that “sometimes I had too many” when he drank beer.

Like Trump, he damages himself even further every time he opens his mouth. And also like Trump, he has absolutely no problem in publicly assaulting the character of any and every person he considers as inferior to himself, or who stands in his way of achieving ultimate power. He is not fit to be a municipal traffic court judge.

willy-nilly. They know what the penalties are for lying in such documents. They don't sign them unless they are sure the contents are true.

Kavanaugh is using the term character assassination as if it categorically implies falsity or injustice. If your character is awful enough to be deserving of it, it can be assassinated by the truth.

I've been interviewed twice by the FBI on a two different childhood friends background checks. One of them i was fairly close to when i was 13-16 years old. Another one I barely knew, but she was technically in the same grade as me in high school and lived a few streets over.

The idea that they were systematically gang raping classmates / others on a semi-regular basis, and that this didn't come up in his background checks is just unbelievable.

Kavanaugh is a bad person, he's bad for the Supreme Court, and bad for America; but I'm not sure how much I believe this latest allegation.

People have to come to the realization that this country in being run by the privileged. The high school that Kavanaugh attended cost about $37,000 a year for a day student and $60,000 for boarding students. These schools prepare their charges for near automatic acceptance in the top rated universities. It is also not unusual that these kids are educated in primary schools that cost up to $20,000 a year. These kids have access to tutors and even travel companions while enjoying extended travel throughout the world to broaden their education. I have relatives, two, who taught at these schools. These kids have unlimited funds and very little supervision. Every weekend and summer night is party time with the days dedicated to curing hangovers. Its a world that the vast majority can not even comprehend. Kids with four, five six hundred dollars pocket money. They knew of kids that were given $200,000.00 party boats for their graduation. Its a world that we can't even comprehend. Kavanaugh's appearance on FOX was a total scam.

and a shitload of other guys systematically gang-raped women they went to school with."

I grew up in an upper middle class housing area. My friends that later got security clearances (I am assuming they passed as the FBI doesn't update you on their status), grew up in that same area. I saw them both at a reunion a few years ago, and both of them were working for the federal gov't, though I never mentioned the FBI came to see me.

When the FBI came to talk to me, it was not a good ole boy or girl conversation. It was a "holy fucking shit I'm talking to the FBI about important shit" recorded, legal, do i need my own lawyer type investigation. And it was extremely thorough. They asked me about events they'd heard about from other interviewees. They knew about one night where my friends and I went and stole a hundred or so realtor yard signs so we could put all of them in another friend's yard. They also knew about a car accident (he hit his parent's brick mailbox with his door open cause he was an idiot) that wasn't reported to the police at the time.

Now if they knew about shit like that, I can't imagine they didn't uncover the whole gang rape club that was apparently no big deal to the people that participated and the others that knew about it.

Character assassination is exactly what Kavanaugh and other rep are doing to the victims of these sexual assaults. The victims are highly successful in their own careers and lives. The republicans and Kavanaugh are trying to destroy their credibility, professionalism and careers. Kavanaugh and the republicans are the ones doing the character assassination!! By the way, is Kavanaugh an alcoholic? Is he fit to be one of the leaders of our country. DJT isn't and we are stuck with him!!

If the Republicans would quit using their Bibles to beat people’s heads and open them, they’d find this passage from Galatians VI: Whatsoever a man Soweth, that he shall also reap.

Kavanaugh is a professional character assassin. I didn’t know they even had that job, but if you need someone’s reputation dragged through the mud for no reason, or you want someone out of the way and you want them to regret for life ever having blocked you, there’s only one name to call. The most disgusting part of this whole sordid affair isn’t what he did to women or any other allegation brought forth against him, it’s that the stupid man we have pretending to be president if he isn’t playing golf or embarrassing the country with his phone would believe the proper reward for destroying the lives of Vince Foster’s family is a lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court.

You are apparently entitled to slime and insinuate all sorts of deviance concerning others, and judge their "moral failings" until their dying days and after (see: Vince Foster), but should anyone simply hold a mirror up to your nasty ass and point out actual things that you did, it's suddenly horribly unjust lies and evil insinuation.

You, sir, are a nasty elitist pervert. A whitened sepulcher of a man, concealing rotting vice and disease.
