Any settlements or judgements would be paid by Milwaukee county taxpayers.

Clarke gives them the finger, "I got away with it, losers!"

The undersheriff who was in charge of everything whenever David Clarke was out of town (which was very often) is now the interim sheriff until the November election for a new term. That person, Richard Schmidt, is running in this election. Any DUers who live in Milwaukee County, be aware that he bears some responsibility for what went on in the jail and the sheriff department. The much better candidate is Earnell Lucas, who served in the Milwaukee Police department for 25 years and as director of security for Major League Baseball for 16 years. Earnell is endorsed by a large number of elected Democrats, former judges, unions and others. I've met him, heard him speak, and I endorse him too.
