Alex Jones, Backtracking, Now Says Sandy Hook Shooting Did Happen
Source: http://wshu.org/post/alex-jones-backtracking-now-s
Talk show host Alex Jones has responded to a lawsuit from the parents of two children killed in the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Newtown, Conn. Jones has repeatedly claimed on his website, Infowars, that the shooting was staged.
In a YouTube video, Jones said he now believes the shooting really happened, and that the families are being used by the Democratic Party and the news media. Jones invited the parents onto his program for a discussion about guns

And the reason , you may ask:
The plaintiffs are the parents of Jesse Heslin and Noah Pozner, who were among the 20 students and six educators at Sandy Hook Elementary School who died in the shooting. Theyre seeking at least $1 million from Jones. The lawsuit alleges Joness misinformation led conspiracy theorists to make death threats against the families of shooting victims.

First his wife exposed him.
Now I hope those parents bankrupt him.
BTW, one of my internet friends was there with those parents through the tragedy.
She despises those who do what Jones did.
May he rot in hell.

HOW DARE HE?????!?!?!??! If it's even possible to find someone more vile than trump, Alex Jones is it. First Amendment notwithstanding, his kind of provocative hate-spew should NOT be allowed and should be taken off the air. That bastard is a shout of "Fire!" in the proverbial crowded theater - on two legs.

(81,466 posts)She did an on-camera Q&A with him about this. She has the dubious distinction, now, of being the go-to gal on all things Alex Jones. Seems somehow like poetic justice.
I don't watch her show either. NOT interested. NOT buying. Watergate taught me that. DO NOT reward bad guys. Don't reward villains with your patronage or your purchases. Don't buy books by crooks. She's forever tainted and corrupted by Pox Noise, so I feel as though she's, in the words of that ambitious scheming asshole Kevin McCarthy said about the effort to drive down Hillary's popularity numbers, "not trustable."

(1,107 posts)The general elements of defamation are:
First, the plaintiff must prove that the defendant made a false and defamatory statement concerning the plaintiff.
Second, the plaintiff must prove that the defendant made an unprivileged publication to a third party.
Third, the plaintiff must prove that the publisher acted at least negligently in publishing the communication.
Fourth, in some cases, the plaintiff must prove special damages. ( this is the difference between libel per se and libel per quod. the parents will likely bring a per se action and thus will not have to prove this last element).
Examples of defamatory statements are virtually limitless and may include any of the following:
A communication that suggests the plaintiff was involved in a serious crime involving moral turpitude or a felony
A communication that exposes a plaintiff to ridicule
A communication that reflects negatively on the plaintiff's character, morality, or integrity
A communication that impairs the plaintiff's financial well-being
A communication that suggests that the plaintiff suffers from a physical or mental defect that would cause others to refrain from associating with the plaintiff
The types of defamatory statements per se are generally listed in a state statute, so it varies from state to state. I'm In Illinois defamatory statements per se in Illinois are ones which :
States that the plaintiff is infected with a loathsome communicable disease (e.g. a sexually transmitted disease, HIV, hepatitis, etc.)
States that the plaintiff has a lack of ability to perform their professional duties, or otherwise harms the plaintiff in their professional reputation
States that the plaintiff lacks integrity in their professional duties
States that the plaintiff has committed fornication or adultery
States that the plaintiff has committed a criminal act
