Trump asks for more time to file his taxes

Source: The Hill

BY LUIS SANCHEZ - 04/17/18 01:39 PM EDT

President Trump asked the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) for an extension on his 2017 tax return, the White House announced on Tuesday.

“The President filed an extension for his 2017 tax return, as do many Americans with complex returns,” White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said on Tuesday. “He will file his tax return by the extension deadline of October 15, 2018.”

Trump broke a long-standing precedent during the 2016 presidential election by refusing to release his tax returns. He refused to release his tax returns after his inauguration as well.

Trump has claimed he cannot release his tax returns because he is under audit, but the IRS has said an audit does not prevent a person from releasing personal tax information.

to camouflage the boatloads of incriminating crap may be even more challenging than finding a lawyer willing to represent the buffoon in chief. Far as I know, there is no accountant-client privilege and fraudulent filings can incriminate both.

isn't the request for extension to be accompanied with a check? Was Sarah asked about that? Seems like the last 5-10 Presidents all released their returns showing they paid a few thousand in taxes from their federal salary after charitable deductions.

I know that from experience. Whoever is doing the taxes (and we used an accountant) can make a rough estimate about what you'll owe.

We were always a bit lax about getting all our paperwork gathered up in a timely fashion.

In recent years my taxes are much simpler, although I still use an accountant and it is money very well spent.

I sent my check in with my extension request yesterday.

On edit, you're supposed to send in a check if you think you'll owe money. If you think you'll get money back you don't need to send a check.

covering up his tracks, I.e., all the illegal deals, criminal and treasonous profits, and taxes legitimately owed but not paid.

Not to mention WTF?! Didn't he turn over his businesses to his sons and direct all earnings go to a Trust Fund, volunteer to donate or not accept his salary as President? In which case his income is ZERO? He needs an extension to compute that?

Trump's tax returns are very complex...and Barron is having a hard time with them.

"Dad, we've got Mafia protection payments and hush money to report. What line do they go on?"
'Schedule C, line 15.'

"How about this $32 million from the KGB?"
'We don't list that. It's our little secret.'

"Six abortions for your mistresses. Where do we list those?"
'Healthcare expenses. Schedule A.'

"Can we deduct Big Macs?"
'Yes. Unreimbursed employee expenses.'
"Are you sure?"
'Look, kid. No one paid me to eat all those hamburgers, so they're unreimbursed. They cost money so they're an expense.'
