Poll: Few voters report seeing bigger paychecks after tax changes

Source: Politico

By STEVEN SHEPARD 02/21/2018 05:44 AM EST

Most voters aren’t noticing more money in their paychecks under the new tax law, according to a new POLITICO/Morning Consult poll.

Just a quarter of registered voters, 25 percent, say they have noticed an increase in their paycheck, the poll shows. A majority, 51 percent, say they have not.

Among employed voters — those working in the private and public sectors, plus those who are self-employed — a larger percentage, 37 percent, have noticed an uptick on their pay stubs. But 53 percent say they haven’t.

Self-identified Republicans are more likely to say they have seen a larger paycheck under the new law (32 percent) than Democrats (21 percent) or independents (22 percent).

did a little quick figuring and I know that I am going to be slammed next year. The little more will be dwarfed by the increase in my tax bill.

Most of the lost deductions result from the fact that I work for a living, and I live in an apartment instead of a house.

16. We need to tell people that any increase is a LOAN from the IRS.

Unless of course, you get slammed when the IRS wants your penny back next year, with 10,000% interest.

10. I read a survey monkey poll last night which said that

51% of Americans support the Tax Scam. I thought that when it was being brought up for a vote that the majority saw through the scam and realized it would really permanently benefit the 1% and everyone else would suffer over the next 10 years.

Too many people still believing in voodoo economics.

The tax scam is a loot and scoot operation -- rob the 99 to pay the 1 and then get away and let Democrats be the grinches to fix it. See link in 'sig'.
