Prominent black supporter of Trump set to leave White House
Source: AP
WASHINGTON (AP) The White House says Omarosa Manigault Newman one of President Donald Trumps most prominent African-American supporters plans to leave the administration next month.
White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders says Manigault Newmans resignation is effective Jan. 20, one year since Trumps inauguration.
Manigault Newmans decision comes at the start of whats expected to be a round of departures heading into the new year.
The White House announced last week that deputy national security adviser Dina Powell will leave the administration early next year.

(20,998 posts)Omarosa has been paid $179,000 (the highest level of staff salary) FOR DOING ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. She should have NEVER even been brought into the White House.

(32,634 posts)Omarosa strikes me as one of those women who are smart to play "dumb" and play along. She's made a lot of dough working for Trump so she should have a nice nest-egg saved up. Time to get her own TV talk show, she can be the next Oprah or something.

Sucks to be her, she's not gonna replace that salary.
That sounds more plausible than Sanders version.

On Omarosa's exit: I just talked to sources who tell me Omarosa was let go yesterday and that she was escorted off of the White House grounds by security. They say she is now calling friends saying that she left voluntarily because her year anniversary was coming up.

Sources say General Kelly did the firing and Omarosa is alleged to have acted very vulgar and cursed a lot and said she helped elect President Trump. The word is a General Kelly had it and got rid of her.

(101,311 posts)Wow - at least the dumb looking cabinet members like Perry and Carson have succeeded in politics and surgery. She is a reality TV star. She's lucky to have held on to Trump's coattails for this long and got into the White House. To think she ought to be higher is the Dunning-Kruger syndrome at its worst.

Omarosa took advantage of the situation and got a nice paycheck while it lasted.
Time to get her own TV talk show or something. Oprah did it, why shouldn't she?

(32,634 posts)... and they don't do shit. Omarosa probably thought she would fit right in.
My guess is Hope Hicks wants a raise, so somebody else has to get laid off.
Just sayin'

Hmmm. . . 2017. . . Let me think. No, I don't believe that was me at the White House. Republican politics? You're kidding me, right?
Never heard of this Bannon guy. Working for the buffoon-in-chief? Ewww. . . Not me. I was on sabbatical. Yep, that's it. Researching turtles in the Galapagos Island. Writing a history of political movements in Sweden from 1800-1820. Always been an interest of mine. Playing AA ball in Taos, NM. At an artists' retreat in Minnesota. You don't buy any of that? How 'bout spending a year in a Tibetan Monastery? That's a winner. Tibetan Monastery.

"Ummm... uh... I was shooting heroin and offering sexual favors for pocket change behind the local strip club."
"That's good. To be frank, we were afraid you might have actually WORKED for Trump during this time."
(laughs nervously) "No... No, of course not."
