Bill Clinton is coming to Paramus to campaign for Phil Murphy

Bill Clinton will appear at a get-out-the-vote rally Tuesday in Paramus for Phil Murphy, the Democratic candidate for governor, at the electrician union's local headquarters.

Clinton's appearance at the rally is the latest support that Murphy, the front-runner in New Jersey's governor's race, has received from top Democratic party members.

Hillary Clinton joined Phil Murphy at a campaign fundraiser Sunday night and Barack Obama came to campaign for him in New Jersey last week. Former vice presidents Joe Biden and Al Gore have also campaigned for him.

Murphy is the former U.S. ambassador to Germany in the Obama administration. He is running against Republican Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno in the Nov. 7 election to replace Gov. Chris Christie.

And the fact that he's bringing in the big wigs scares me in a way.

I'm a registered Democrat who doesn't miss an election (primary or general). I've received no communication from the Murphy campaign (primary or general). I did go to two of his events (a town hall in February-- my picture is in one of his old emails as I showed up in a pussyhat and stood out and the AL Gore one last week). As a field staffer, people like me (primary voting Democrats) are usually the first contacts I make to find volunteers.

I just pray that he doesn't blow it (I'd be knocking myself but I'm working on a local campaign).
