Trump doubles down on media attacks: 'Licenses must be challenged and, if appropriate, revoked'

Source: Raw Story

On Wednesday evening, after two statements overtly challenging NBC and the media at large, President Donald Trump doubled down on his attacks.

“Network news has become so partisan, distorted and fake that licenses must be challenged and, if appropriate, revoked. Not fair to public!” the president tweeted.

Earlier the in the day, the president told the White House press pool he thinks it’s “frankly disgusting the press is able to write whatever it wants to write” after challenging NBC’s “license” for a first time on Twitter.

As Forbes noted, national broadcast networks like NBC do not have licenses with the FCC, and therefore cannot have those nonexistent licenses revoked.

Can have their licenses challenged based on the conduct of the network that owns them -- even conduct unrelated to the operation of the station. It's a very high bar and rarely if ever does s station lose its license and any effort to revoke a license based on the content of a station or network's programming-- content not found to violate any FCC rule--is not going anywhere

unamerican push for toward a fascist (or whatever) dictatorship that Trump would love to have. I don't say that lightly either. This isn't a "I disagree with his views so that makes him a fascist dictator" This guy has clearly displayed the warped vision he has for our country and how it should be run. Even more scary is how many people are willing to go along with it.

Grant toy, the "left" has its own share of anti-free speech zealots, but none of them are nearly as dangerous as what we have brewing on the right.

In a sane world I would expect even his supporters to call out this unamerican bullshit for what it is, but sadly they will cheer it on and encourage it. Not giving a second thought to what they are actually cheering on and enabling.

papers. These are the people who supposedly were offended because Obama (or maybe it was another democrat) didn't wear a flag lapel pin one time. Just fake all around.

Obama: "We shouldn't shoot each other with guns"
Them: "OMG! He hates America and wants to take away white folk's guns and give them to the non-whites so they can shoot us... I done did hear him say it with my own eyes"

I used to date a girl who was a conservative. Her entire family was very, very far right. Back then, politics didn't matter to me, so I didn't care which side of the political spectrum people fell on.

Well, her dad got a new truck that was equipped with OnStar. He asked me one day if I knew how to disable it, because he didn't want Obama listening in on his conversations.

I wonder what he was up to had him worried that he might get unwanted attention, though.

I understand that level of crazy from conservatives, though. I grew up in a conservative household and even though I wasn't really liberal or conservative as a kid, I always thought there was something a bit off. Nowadays I don't know whether to laugh or cry with some of stuff I hear them say.

That there is something very wrong with this useless bastard, by now I'm sure most of the non hardcore republican/conservative voters that voted for him for whatever reason now know this has to end and soon.

Ignoring American natural disaster victims everywhere, fueds with the NFL and NBC and politicians of every stripe, threatening war in NK and South America, firing people right and left, disgusting the United Nations, his cabinet stealing everything in sight and setting us back 200 years in every other way.

It gets worse ever day, more childish tweets and insults, a visible disconnect from reality, dereliction of responsibility for anything, the knowledge that nobody's in charge of the country.

And the russia thing, way beyond too many coincidences, way too many people meeting with way too many russians way too many times, dozens of excuses offered, so many meetings that didn't happen until they had to admit they did, continously updated forms for a security clearance, finally filled out FARA forms.

If anybody who voted for him knows about even some of the above I would hope that they make the right choice in the next election, I think they will.

Something is coming, you could feel it building up in the last few weeks and more everyday, I truly don't think dumpf will be in office a month from now , he's proving to everybody that he's not fit to be president in a way louder voice than ever before.

And write a public report that will be the basis of revoking licenses.

Of course he wouldn't do that. He himself wants to be the sole arbitrator. Basically if you write something that makes me look bad, whether true or not, even if its just repeating what I said at a rally, you are guilty of "fake news".
