Mueller Expands Probe to Trump Business Transactions
Source: Bloomberg
The U.S. special counsel investigating possible ties between the Donald Trump campaign and Russia in last years election is examining a broad range of transactions involving Trumps businesses as well as those of his associates, according to a person familiar with the probe.
The president told the New York Times on Wednesday that any digging into matters beyond Russia would be out of bounds. Trumps businesses have involved Russians for years, making the boundaries fuzzy so Special Counsel Robert Mueller appears to be taking a wide-angle approach to his two-month-old probe.
FBI investigators and others are looking at Russian purchases of apartments in Trump buildings, Trumps involvement in a controversial SoHo development with Russian associates, the 2013 Miss Universe pageant in Moscow and Trumps sale of a Florida mansion to a Russian oligarch in 2008, the person said.
Agents are also interested in dealings with the Bank of Cyprus, where Wilbur Ross served as vice chairman before he became commerce secretary, as well as the efforts of Jared Kushner, the Presidents son-in-law and White House aide, to secure financing for some of his familys real estate properties. The information was provided by someone familiar with the developing inquiry but not authorized to speak publicly.

(7,220 posts)IF you have nothing to hide (hehe, as if), then why all the bluster and threats?
Any decent person, knowing what Mueller's team is finding RIGHT NOW, would resign. Not our president! He's unburdoned by weak issues like character, ethics, morals or principles. All his dreams of being unquestionably revered by quivering plebes (like that "smart cookie" Kim Jong Un) are not coming true, and that's so unfair to the president!!! Never in the history of politics has anyone been treated so unfairly, waaaaahhhhh!!!

Will Mueller survive? Sessions is on notice for allegedly recusing himself....he must feel like he "owes" Cheeto loyalty.
I have a feeling the fan might be meeting the excrement very soon.

(47,419 posts)He actually thinks he can tell Mueller what he can and cannot investigate? This is a guy who has gotten away with so much crap for so long, he honestly thinks he can do whatever he wants. I'm afraid he can't bully and threaten his way out of this quagmire.

(1,459 posts)If you consider Mueller to be a law and order type, then wouldn't he take the firing and go away?
Scandal and gnashing of teeth for everyone else in the world but in the end, it's better for Trump to fire Mueller and stay clear legally.
The new standard is that anything beyond blatant illegality is good to go.

Robert Mueller is an ex Marine, turned Lawyer, ex FBI Director. He swore an oath to uphold the US Constitution and the rule of law. Trump is in no position to mess with Mueller.
Former batshit crazy Congresswoman, Michele Bachmann, once called the Obama Administration "a Gangster Government". What we have with the Trump Administration is just that, but worse.

Big time criminal.
But, his base LIKES that about him.
His DOJ will never prosecute.
There was a coup a while back, all this is moot but it will be fun to see the proof.
