WIFE: ARRESTED ALLEGED RUSSIAN HACKER 'LINKED TO TRUMP'S ELECTION WIN'

Source: AP - A.B.C. Chicago

MADRID -- An alleged Russian hacker has been detained in Spain at the request of American authorities, an arrest that set cybersecurity circles abuzz after a Russian broadcaster raised the possibility it was linked to the U.S. presidential election.

Pyotr Levashov was arrested Friday in Barcelona on a U.S. computer crimes warrant, according to a spokeswoman for Spain's National Court, who spoke on condition of anonymity in line with court rules.....

... Such arrests aren't unusual - American authorities typically try to nab Russian cybercrime suspects abroad because of the difficulty involved in extraditing them from Russia - but Levashov's arrest drew immediate attention after his wife told Russia's RT broadcaster that he was linked to America's 2016 election hacking.

RT quoted Maria Levashova as saying that armed police stormed into their apartment in Barcelona overnight, keeping her and her friend locked in a room for two hours while they quizzed her husband. She said that when she spoke to her husband on the phone from the police station, he told her he was told that he had created a computer virus that was "linked to Trump's election win."

Found that some machines in more populated areas (i.e. more democrats) would
drop a vote every so often. Kris Kobach Kansas' Sec. of State and the Father of
Interstate Cross Check blocked her access to the raw voting data to study the issue.

Kobach along w/Ken Blackwell worked for the Trump campaign too.

orchestrate it all - the simple logistics of doing that. I suppose that wanting more money is an ingrained given. But, how and where do they decide how to make it happen? How do they do it and have the conversations so private and unrecorded? On the golf courses and private clubs? How did they all know to work on redistricting? How would they have pulled off an EVM fix? To engineer all the tax loopholes. I am convinced that the whole HMO invention must have been hatched somewhere - perhaps on a cocktail napkin....What is something that every human being has to have? Health Insurance. How can we capitalize on that? Insert an unnecessary bureaucracy so we can make money every time someone has a sore throat. I recently went to an out-of-network doctor - and it was like heaven (except for the paying part). It was like a distant childhood memory. Call the doctor, go in the very next day, sit in a small waiting room, get called in within 3 minutes, see a doctor (not a PA) who talks to you, cares, etc. etc.

And here is an update -

"According to Russian television, quoting Levashov's wife, armed police stormed into their apartment in Barcelona and quizzed her husband for two hours. Later in a phone conversation from a Spanish jail, Maria Levashov said her husband told her the arrest was "linked to Trump's election win."

However, a U.S. official familiar with the arrest said authorities have not yet determined if Levashov was part of the political hacking operation.

"It is to-be-determined whether he had anything to do with the WikiLeaks hack or the Russian role in the election. He was being looked at on other cyber issues, so he will be asked about the elections," said the official."

This Russian Hacker's Wife Says He Was Arrested For Being "Linked To Trump's Win"

Pyotr Levashov, known online as Peter Severa, was detained in Spain over the weekend. His wife says it’s because of his involvement with a “computer virus” linked to the election.
Originally posted on April 10, 2017, at 12:09 p.m.

SAN FRANCISCO — For years Pyotr Levashov, aka Peter Severa, was known to authorities as one of the world’s most prolific spam kingpins.

Levashov, who lived in St. Petersburg, traveled freely under a lifestyle so lavish that one fellow Russian hacker told BuzzFeed News it “would have embarrassed an oligarch.” Last week, he was arrested in Barcelona while vacationing with his family under an international warrant at the request of the US.

Normally, the arrest of a spammer wouldn’t illicit international headlines, no matter how prolific. But over the weekend Levashov’s wife told the Russian state-owned broadcaster Russia Today that her husband’s arrest was due to his involvement in a “computer virus” that was “linked to Trump’s win.” Immediately, online forums were abuzz that one of the Fancy Bears — a group of Russian, government-linked hackers — had been caught.

Yet the arrest of Levashov, a well-known figure in cybercriminal circles, has less to do with the US government hunting down elusive members of the Russian government’s elite squad of hackers and more to do with authorities finally cracking down on the murky underworld of Russian cybercriminals who have aided Russia’s ever-growing cyberwar in pursuit of their geopolitical goals. For years, cybersecurity researchers and US authorities have tracked the murky ties between cybercriminals and the Russian state, including how malware first developed for criminal enterprises has made its way into state-sponsored cyberattacks on Russia’s neighbors. Over the last six months, US authorities have appeared to be stepping up their efforts to arrest the cybercriminals who work with the Russian state.

“We’ve reached a boiling point with Russia. They are the closest competitor to the US when it comes to cyberespionage and cyberattacks,” said Milan Patel, managing director at the K2 Intelligence cybersecurity firm and former chief technology officer of the FBI’s cyber division. “With Russia now, a lot is coming to the forefront and being made public about how they run their cyber activities.”.......................

Apr 2017

That virus could have allowed the later placement of Hillary's emails, allowing them to be discovered by the NYC FBI field office following the seizure of the laptop as evidence in the sexting sting.

https://patribotics.blog/2017/02/14/the-carolina-conspiracy-putin-catfished-weiner-louise-mensch/

I drew readers’ attention to the arrest in Prague of the Russian hacker, Yvgeny Nikulin. He was indicted on charges of hacking Dropbox, Linked in and Formspring in 2012-2013.

Formspring is the little-known sexting app that Anthony Weiner used for his sexting the first time around.

My theory was that Nikulin, on instructions from the Russian state, “woke” or “planted” a laptop of Anthony Weiner’s via a virus which he placed on it through his prior hack of Formspring, and alerted Russia’s moles and agents of influence in the FBI field office in New York, who subsequently “leaked” to all and sundry that the emails had been found, and, by Rudy Giuliani’s own testimony, pressured James Comey into sending the letter he did.

However, the emails were – nonetheless- found as part of an “unrelated criminal investigation” into Weiner’s sexting with a “15 year old girl”. The story of these “sexts” broke Sep 21st in the Daily Mail with a byline from Alana Goodman.

This could be the guy who wrote the virus that Mensch speculated about. That virus would have played a major role in the election by allowing the uploading of the emails that Comey subsequently wrote his letter about.

My theory is that he was the person who wrote the virus that Nukulin later planted.
