Bannon and Kushner hold sit-down in attempt to bury the hatchet

Source: Politico

The meeting, ordered by President Trump, comes amid rising tensions between senior aides.

Steve Bannon and Jared Kushner, two warring senior White House aides, had a bury-the-hatchet meeting ordered by President Donald Trump, after arriving at Mar-a-Lago this week.

The sit-down, which was confirmed by two White House officials, was an attempt to smooth over tensions between the two men, which have dominated headlines for days. Whether the meeting was successful in creating a détente – and how long it lasts – is an open question, especially in a White House that has been dominated by infighting.

Bannon and Kushner had for months been allies. In recent weeks, though, there has been substantial discord between them. The fight, people in the administration say, centers on policy differences. Bannon, White House chief strategist, is a flame-throwing populist who formerly ran Breitbart News. He has criticized Kushner, Trump's son-in-law and senior adviser, for his more politically moderate approach. Kushner is suspicious of Bannon’s fiery style and has been concerned about how he’s influencing the president.

Suspicion between Bannon’s team and Kushner’s has intensified in recent days, with both sides accusing the other of planting negative stories in the media.

pursued their own agendas. As I said in another thread, Bannon is the kind of man who would deliberately pursue policies that killed 50 million people in pursuit of his nutso goals. Of course some 36-year-old father of three yanked out of his normal, privileged life to face off with this man over what ideology directs the White House is not going to be an ally.

Although it probably would do any good, because I doubt they can swing a hatchet any better than they can govern.

Not always possible.

Really despise Steve Bannon and the alt-right. Read the word 'cuck' on the internet and you're usually reading something an alt-right asshole wrote.

Bannon is the creepiest of the creeps and he actually makes Trump look better (probably why's he's there). Read his Tweets and you can see just what a flaming bag of complete shit he is. God, I hope he goes. Nothing would be finer except the departure of Trump himself.

And the word "cuck" is laughable. It's from guys with tiny little weenises who think the best insult they can come up with is to insinuate their target's wife is cheating on him. Probably because their own wives (if applicable) are thoroughly disgusted with them.

Tell you this, if someone publicly insulted my son-in-law like Bannon did, his ass would be OUT. But I keep making the mistake of trying to figure these idiots out based on my own standards which I try to keep as decent and honorable as possible.

an attempt to normalize a flame-throwing racist, anti-semite? I mean all media is ignoring who this bannon POS was/is when at breitbart and who he appealed to and was followed by. I am so sick of the hypocrisy of this nation and people. All the grief of war and hate of the ameriKKKans covered up with white-picket fences and green grass.

When will the BS be stopped by 'decent' americans, if possible?

and he is certainly not there to further a populist agenda. A glance at the cabinet and Supreme Court appointments ought to disable anyone of that notion.

I could see this 'make-up' coming. They have more agreements than disagreements. Mainly that they all want to steal as much money as they can while their easily suggestive sugar daddy is running things.

Mercers v. Trumps. The long-time people behind the puppet for hire won't give up their meal ticket easily. And the Mercers are just a bunch of rich marks to the Family.

I've seen Goodfellas. I know how this ends.
