Melania Trump says she was offended by her husband Donald Trump's "unacceptable" sexual remarks about women, but is asking the nation to accept his apology.

Melania Trump said in a Saturday statement that the “words my husband used are unacceptable and offensive to me.”

“This does not represent the man that I know. He has the heart and mind of a leader.”

The audio released by the Washington Post on Friday revealed a vulgar conversation Donald Trump had in 2005, describing an unsuccessful attempt to seduce a married woman, and saying that “when you’re a star” women let you “do anything.” At the time, Trump had been married to Melania for a few months.
