HAVANA, Oct. 7 (Xinhua) -- Jill Biden, wife of the American Vice President Joe Biden, stressed the relevance of educational exchanges between the United States and Cuba.

Touring the Pedagogical University "Enrique Jose Varona" in Havana on Friday, Mrs. Biden spoke with heads of departments, teachers and leading academics of the centre, and expressed her interest in the training of educators in Cuba.

The American delegation stressed the importance of contacts between the two countries and, especially, of dialogue among colleagues in the education sector.

"Education is the key to a better future for you and your families," said Jill Biden.

She shared her views on the importance of being a teacher to a group of students and expressed interest in understanding their motivations for choosing the teaching profession.

Otherwise, I think I will continue to post the articles from Xinhua or other foreign media who publish in English, when they have articles I can't get here.

By the way, there is ABS0LUTELY NOTHING in the article, nor in the photos I located which creates a bogus picture of the events surrounding Jill Biden's trip to Cuba.

Your decision to announce what sources cannot be used is impressive now that you've taken over things here.

The official press agency of the People's Republic of China?
lol

Newsweek criticized Xinhua as "being best known for its blind spots" regarding controversial news in China, and mentioned that its "coverage of the United States is hardly fair and balanced".

HAVANA - Second Lady Jill Biden was in Cuba after Hurricane Matthew destroyed homes in Baracoa and other eastern towns of the island.

Josefina Vidal, the director of the Cuban Foreign Ministry's department of the United States, welcomed the Second Lady of the U.S. at José Martí International Airport in Havana on Thursday.

Biden, a doctor of education married to Vice President Joe Biden, visited a teachers' school in Ciudad Libertad and a technical school in Old Havana.

Biden also watched a soccer game between the U.S. and Cuba on Friday afternoon, and she was set to travel to the province of Camaguey.
