(764 posts)I am no expert though I do have a degree in social science but I believe the DNC and Clinton better wake up and realize abstract hypotheticals are so 2008. Todays rural swing voter, the folks who are going to elect our next president are not into abstract reasoning, they are into what moves and releases their feelings. Trump is accessing a deeper part of the self that is governed by feelings that are deeper than reasoning and thinking. Feeling override reason, that is a large part of why we have such a problem with addictions right now. Trump, much like Goebels did in Nazi Germany use labels and words than take power away those he is against and helps the prospective voter feel they are better than whoever Trump is putting down. Like all they have to do is vote anti Hillary pro Trump and American will be great again, how easy is that!
Either the DNC and Clinton learn to access people on a feeling level, not abstract reasoning or we can all watch our power and freedom go by the wayside after Trump gets elected and we face breakdown of our societies infrastructure.
We thought the breakdown of society was years off and likely to be climate caused but it might be just around the corner.

(21,056 posts)to what these say are mostly lost but not all to the Orange Marshmallow. We have to hope as my Democratic buddy says, that she doesn't talk over people as he said she's prone to do in debate answers. I hope she is exceptional in the debates, and really hammers home the much finer points she is hitting at here in these questions, that she's much more ready to be the president of all the people, and he's only looked out for his own skin the past 40 years. Also, that his financial connections are to be deemed highly suspect since American banks aren't his main creditors, I do believe, and is he owned by Putin, and thereby going to put Russia first, since he seems to LOVVVVVVE Putin so much!

(22,912 posts)All her messages are easy to forward, everyone on her subscribe list gets to see it and can comment. It's a whole social fabric that wasn't as broad in 2008 as now. So these are more focused on people who only get their news from their smartphone devices, with means young people.
Quite effective and quite smart if you ask me.
