Jailers Handcuffed, Pepper-Sprayed, and Choked Inmate to Death

06.26.16 8:00 PM ET

Darius Robinson’s death inside a rural Oklahoma lockup has been ruled a homicide, but no one has been charged with killing him as the prosecutor sits on the tape.

Handcuffed and covered in pepper spray, Darius Robinson was strangled to death by a jailer at a rural Oklahoma county jail, the state’s medical examiner has found.

It was only when Robinson began foaming at the mouth that the Caddo County jailers sought medical treatment, but by then it was too late. The father of seven died that day in early April on the floor, while a camera above watched. District Attorney Jason Hicks is refusing to release video of Robinson getting the life choked out of him, even to his own family, citing an ongoing investigation into the his death.

. . .

An autopsy report released last week revealed that Robinson died of “asphyxiation due to manual neck compression” and ruled it a homicide. Law enforcement has refused to release reports related to the incident, citing their interpretation of the state’s open records laws, but The Daily Beast has obtained some records from private sources, including the names of the correctional officers involved in Robinson’s killing.

CADDO COUNTY, Oklahoma - Protesters gathered at the Caddo County Courthouse Friday morning, demanding justice for an inmate who recently died at the Caddo County Jail.

About 50 people attended the protest at 9 a.m. at the Caddo County Courthouse in Anadarko, Oklahoma. They are demanding justice for Darius Robinson, who died in the Caddo County Jail back in April. Authorities said Robinson attempted to escape his cell when jailers entered to clear items from the cell he had destroyed. When jailers tried to restrain Robinson, he stopped breathing.

Jail staff attempted CPR and resuscitated Robinson, but he later died at the hospital in Anadarko.

Robinson was in the jail for failing to pay child support. An autopsy report for the father of seven revealed that he was strangled.

And cops wonder why people think they cannot be trusted to tell the truth or treat people with respect.
Police in Anadarko and these other small towns get away with cold blooded murder All the time.
This case is especially grievous; hope that the DA does the right thing for the citizens and not the good ol'boys at the sherrif's dept.

is a gateway job to being a cop on the road. There they are indoctrinated into the gang lifestyle of LEOs. All nonLEOs are dirt bags and you never rat out a gang member. They learn all about the "professional courtesy" rule, flash a badge and get a free pass on crimes.
