DNC protests in Philadelphia dwarf those outside RNC in Cleveland
Source: PBS
PHILADELPHIA Chanting We are the 99 percent, about 100 Bernie Sanders supporters began marching across a bridge from New Jersey into Philadelphia in the sweltering heat Monday ahead of the opening of the Democratic convention.
The demonstrators on the Ben Franklin Bridge planned to link up with hundreds more gathered at Philadelphia City Hall, and together march 4 miles down Broad Street to the arena where the convention was to set begin in the afternoon.
The protests took shape amid a punishing heat wave, with forecasters saying the temperature could hit 97 degrees and feel like 105. Volunteers will be handing out water, and the city will provide misting tents for demonstrators all week.
....
By contrast, the Republican convention last week in Cleveland was held in a bustling part of the city. A heavy police presence and fewer than expected protesters helped authorities maintain order. Only about two dozen arrests were made.

(68,868 posts)Clinton did not hire DWS--she gave her a meaningless symbolic volunteer position in the campaign. Nothing of value was transmitted to DWS.
This is a pro-Democratic party website. Please keep that in mind.

(11,529 posts)Let's see.... we have a candidate's wife who plagiarized her speech (or else a corporate speechwriter who was illegally working for the campaign who plagiarized the speech AND a candidate's wife who LIED about writing it herself). We have a losing candidate giving a prime-time speech urging people NOT to vote for the nominee. How's that for controversy? IMO a handful of Bernie supporters who have yet to come to terms with the reality of politics pales in comparison to what went on in Cleveland - but our M$M will certainly try to make a big deal out of any little tidbit they can find in Philly to help their ratings.
