Martin Shkreli Admits He Messed Up: He Should've Raised Prices Even Higher

Source: Forbes

Martin Shkreli hasn’t changed.

If anything, the provocative pharmaceutical CEO — who became “the most hated man in America” earlier this year — thinks he didn’t go far enough when he hiked the price of Daraprim by more than 5,000% overnight.

“ I would have raised prices higher,” Shkreli vowed on Thursday, after being asked how he would re-do the past three months. “That’s my duty.”

Shkreli spoke at the Forbes Healthcare Summit during a 25-minute interview that was at turns fascinating, horrifying, and utterly compelling.

Have gotten so used to the idea of "The public be damned, my responsibility is to the shareholders" that they can actually talk of killing and looting people as if it was the high moral act.

The problem will come in when the Chinese and Indians have gotten so good at playing capitalist that decide to discard most of us as shells, and yes, that includes the rich here, as well as a good portion of their own people. No need for Harvard or Wal Street or Silicon Valley anymore Shkreli.

Their first fiduciary responsibility is to their shareholders, and...that's why we are all screwed!

He surely has the ego to match, just needs more practice to become a famous jerk.

Nobody was forced to gamble in Trump's casinos or buy apartments in his buildings. But profiting from sufferers of toxoplasmosis by price-gouging an essential medication for them is an order of magnitude worse.

There's already a similar compound that sells at $1 a pill.

It's not that difficult to make.

If any federal funding was used for the R&D of any drugs, there should be a limit on the profit allowed-- even a generous 100% would be far less than Shkreli's ilk seek to impose.

It only takes just a few assholes like him to screw up what would otherwise be a much better experience for the rest of us as a members of a civilized society.

As was his reaction to Sanders's middle finger. I could see the temper tantrum in his tweets.
