Media poll: John Bel Edwards is leading David Vitter in runoff election
Source: Times-Picayune
A poll taken a few days after the primary election shows state Rep. John Bel Edwards beating U.S. Sen. David Vitter in the runoff by 20 points.
Fifty-two percent of people contacted picked Edwards, compared to 32 percent choosing Vitter, in the poll. Sixteen percent were undecided. Edwards lead is well outside the margin of error (plus or minus 4 percent) for the survey.
JMC Analytics conducted the poll for WVLA-TV in Baton Rouge and other Nextstar television stations. The pollster contacted potential voters between Oct. 28-31, less than a week after the primary election. The runoff is three weeks away on Nov. 21.
Edwards led Vitter in almost all categories of voters -- from those who almost always vote to those who typically don't vote. But Edwards' performed particularly well among women and African Americans in the poll.

He's not a Bernie Sanders Democrat; we're not going to get one elected in LA. But I want a Democrat in place to protect 2016 voting and 2022 redistricting.

(6,943 posts)Everybody who complains about the "red south" can help change that by electing John Bel Edwards governor of Louisiana. I sent him $$$ and on social media. Do what you can, this is a gigantic election.
