The Liberal Party will form a majority government, knocking the Conservatives out of power and into the role of Official Opposition, the CTV News Election Desk projects.
Its an historic win for the Liberals, who are leaping from third place to the seat of power. The Trudeau family is moving back to 24 Sussex Dr., establishing Canadas first political family dynasty.

(2,204 posts)It's impressive that the Atlantic went solid Liberal, but the places where they actually have conservatives have yet to report in.

(5,764 posts)...if the early returns are predictive. How the fuck is anyone still voting Conservative?

(8,646 posts)"you can't run a household like that!" they say. Like none of them have ever had a mortgage and they all pay cash for everything.
I've had to hide a bunch of posts from the whiny baby crowd on my facebook. Lots of "let the people who voted Liberal pay for the debt!" posts.
Oh, and panic over another NEP.

(5,764 posts)Over a decade of surpluses under the previous Liberal government, then along come the Conservatives and BAM... gone.
I can't process the bizarro land mindset that would cause anyone concerned with deficits to vote Conservative.

(295 posts)and that's what pisses me off. If we could rescind his pension and make him actually work for a living.... nah, he has no skills, no talents, no education, no abilities. Now he gets a monthly check from the taxpayers for doing fuck all. Wait a minute... isn't he supposed to be against that? Well, he always was a lying, hypocritical sack of shit so it comes as no surprise.

The CPC was starting to sound as silly as the Republicans in the last few weeks of the campaign. (Well, almost as silly.)

(5,902 posts)I mean, who could support something like this, eh?
And in Canada!! It may seem like a trivial policy detail (unless you're 80, arthritic, and have to walk 10 blocks in the snow to get your mail); but it turned out to be a fitting metaphor of the kind of inhumanity Canadians could expect from Harper if he had been returned to government, and I'm glad it wasn't lost on the voters.
Congrats, Canada. And all the best.

(295 posts)Who the hell else would he support? He hasn't said it, yet, but if he came out as a Trump supporter, I would not be surprised. He used to be a human being, but now he's just wealthy. Fuck him.

(11,175 posts)From what I've read of the Liberals, they're less liberal, in the American sense of the word, than the New Democrats.
