MADISON, Wis. (AP) Republican presidential candidate Scott Walker on Monday will call for sweeping restrictions on organized labor in the U.S., seeking to replicate nationwide his successful effort as Wisconsin's governor to curb the power of unions.
At a town hall meeting in Las Vegas, Walker will propose eliminating unions for employees of the federal government, making all workplaces right-to-work unless individual states vote otherwise, scrapping the federal agency that oversees unfair labor practices and making it more difficult for unions to organize.
Many of Walker's proposals are focused on unions for workers at all levels of government, while others would also affect private-sector unions. Labor law experts said such an effort, if successful, would substantially reduce the power of organized labor in America.
While Walker could implement some of the proposals via presidential executive order, others would require an act of Congress or changes in federal regulations. The goal, Walker said, is "to achieve fairness and opportunity for American workers."..............

(706 posts)I doubt anyone inside the GOP primaries is sane. They would probably all do this if they could Walker is just more brazen about it.

(750 posts)The GOP will shut down at their discretion grievances about commerce in retaliation of public resentment or decent to unfair business practices, especially Health and Safety practices.
As in basic Health Care for everyone, continuously jamming legislation to perfect a better Health Care system the GOP has used the Affordable Health Care Act as a racial wedge. This has encouraged and perpetuated hatred with a larger social divide especially in the public services such as police and fire protection.
Imagine the possible dis-honest police able to run by a personal bias, that being the first level step to tyranny America was trying to separate from over two hundred years ago. There is way too many issues about personal homosexual bias.
Police already are equipped with batons, Monadnock brand police batons and training aids including collapsible, expandable and rigid batons, nightsticks and accessories with plastic face shields rubber bullets, and dogs.
The Media being complicit profiling any decent about unfair business practices, causing a serious social divide constantly calling the Health Care, Obama Care that implies White people may not be getting what care they should.
Here is a political party that is racist using Health Care as a tool in modern rhetoric that clearly is going back to the old Kings Georges oppression. Here is Scott Walker making the view that the first amendment does not exist when in fact he should be supporting it.
The media should be pointing this out
Walker is in total violation of the First Amendment of the Constitution of the United States.
The Right To Work is an ambitious sanctimonious talk of GOP persons making a show of being morally superior.
When in fact Right To Work law is geared to cut off Union funding, especially Federal Unions, or agencies like the FRA, OSHA, EPA, etc
that would hamper unfair labor grievance relating to tort law and penalties, and civil suites that have no limit to make criminal judgement, or give punitive damages for intentional fraud.
The people who accept the idea to throw away the first amendment are foolish and misguided.

(235 posts)of why Scott Walker is languishing in the single-digit backwaters.
These idiots like Walker believe that the interests of the billionaire donor class are the same as the interests of the rank and file Republican voter. I'm pretty sure that busting unions ranks pretty far down on the list of concerns that the average Joe-lunchbox Republican gives a shit about, particularly when many of them have the same job security worries as everyone else.
But Walker thinks this is going to help him!
