Talks between Allegheny Technologies Inc. and the United Steelworkers union remain stalled, a representative of the USW confirmed Tuesday.

Over the weekend the USW sent an update to members notifying them there have been no contract talks with ATI (NYSE: ATI) and no negotiations have been scheduled between the union and the Pittsburgh-based steelmaker since the company initiated a lockout of more than 2,200 union members Aug. 15.

The union said it remains available to meet with ATI management to continue bargaining. A spokesman for ATI was not immediately available to comment.

In its most recent update, posted Aug. 19, ATI said USW-represented employees "conducted themselves professionally, with a continued focus on safety, quality, and serving (its) customers" after the lockout notice was issued.
