Report: Biden Skipping Summer DNC Meeting This Week

Source: TPM

Vice President Joe Biden plans to skip the summer Democratic National Committee meeting this week, and by extension, the chance to address its members ahead of his potential third presidential run, according to Politico.

A committee official confirmed to Politico on Sunday night that the five confirmed Democratic candidates will be at the Minneapolis gathering, which is set to begin Thursday, but Biden has not accepted his open invitation.

“The president and vice president always have an open invitation for DNC meetings. He would of course be invited as a candidate if he were to become one,” a DNC official told Politico.

This comes after reports that Biden returned to Washington to meet with Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) while contemplating the viability of a presidential run.

1. So the completely illogical presidential run reported by a Murdoch rag may not actually happen?

3. It's not "illogical" if Hillary's bid self-destructs.

Then the Party will have someone who isn't a socialist to run against the Republicans.

Disclaimer: I like Bernie way more than Biden.

He has none of Clinton's red state support which is the only that might keep her competitive in the primary.

My money's on Bernie, but it will probably be tight. If Biden enters the race I think Bernie wins in a landslide, whether Hillary drops out or not.

9. That's kind of an irrelevant point if Biden can't win the primary

Though I'd agree that Biden would be a much stronger candidate in a general election than Clinton.

12. They run the "Democratic" primary. It's their show, their convention. They aren't worthless.

They also have designated the super-delegates.

For such a "worthless" crew, they hold a lot of clout when it comes to picking one of the two major candidates for the presidency.

You can not like them all you want, but they aren't "worthless." They have a great deal of "worth" when it comes to determining who the next Democratic POTUS candidate will be.
