Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC) Seeks Ouster Of John Boehner As Speaker Of The House
Source: UPI
WASHINGTON, July 28 (UPI) -- U.S. Rep. Mark Meadows, R-N.C., submitted a resolution Tuesday calling for the ouster of Rep. John Boehner, R-Ohio, as speaker of the house, saying the leader's actions have caused the power of Congress to "atrophy."
The resolution accuses Boehner of bypassing the majority of Congress by centralizing decision making.
"The speaker has, through inaction, caused the power of Congress to atrophy, thereby making Congress subservient to the executive and judicial branches, diminishing the voice of the American people," the resolution read.
Meadows also says Boehner punishes members who vote according to their own conscience, not according to the speaker's will.

(16,104 posts)Boehner won't shut down the government - their creamy dreamy wish!
Republican Congressional power is 'atrophied' when legislation like annual budgets takes place.
It's going to be an interesting September/October.
And the Federal government is right now actually using financial balancing act to keep the government from going into default right now!
We still have 'raising the debt limit' ahead!

(135,425 posts)This sounds weird and personal--like Boehner told him to "heel" and he tried to strike at the king.
Thing is, if you try to kill the king, you'd better succeed.
If you don't, they'll come for you!!!
What a moron:

Sur-prize, sur-prize, Gomer!
It's called "party discipline" and it's what all those fatcat donors are paying for! Good grief--this guy doesn't get how the system works....he's a-gonna be "primaried" if he doesn't start playing ball right quick.

(7,933 posts)Not sure how the Koch establishment views him but he has all the right wing loony cred you could ask for. Not likely to get primary challenged in his district since he's just the kind of I'm-not-beholden-to-the-Beltway-Crowd asshole they love. Best we can hope for is either he can't keep it in his pants or keep his hands off the election funds which seems to fit his "type" all too often.

Define punishment here? Never mind. It really doesn't matter, does it.
