Jameis Winston Files Counterclaim, Denies He Raped Woman

Source: ABC News

Attorneys for No. 1 NFL pick Jameis Winston said in a court filing that the former Florida State University quarterback did not rape the woman who is suing him and that she is motivated by greed.

Attorneys John F. Myers and David Cornwell Sr. filed the counterclaim Friday against Erica Kinsman in federal court in Orlando.

Kinsman's suit filed last month said she was intoxicated at a Tallahassee bar in December 2012 when Winston and others took her back to Winston's apartment and he sexually assaulted her. Her lawsuit accuses Winston of rape, assault, false imprisonment and emotional distress. Winston says the sex was consensual.

The Associated Press doesn't routinely identify people who say they're sexual assault victims. However, Kinsman told her story publicly in a documentary.

Winston has a high GPA and his work ethic in sports has never been questioned. Unlike guys like Ryan Leaf and JaMarcus Russell who were both downright lazy and were never willing to put in the work.

From reports so far, Winston has looked impressive in mini-camp and already ahead of the curve.

The one and only issue with Winston is his immaturity. Will he stay out of trouble? That's the only question mark.

I've been a Buc fan since their inception and been down this road with their hot shot, sure thing QB picks before.

for that to be his defense. I suppose now the question will be how intoxicated she was. Now she can claim she was falling down drunk. I have no idea how it can be proven one way or another if she was capable of consent.

He's got big money now, so he can spend a fortune on legal fees while his victim is bled dry.

I wonder, if he is able to escape justice, will he have a party and mockingly hold up a picture of his victim. It was very telling that he held up crab legs at his draft party. Winston is a twisted creep.

You asked "If you have reasonable doubt... Why do you "strongly" suspect it?" I was chiming in that is it very possible to strongly suspect something happened yet not have enough proof to prove it which is absolutely true. Now you try and change the goal posts again to me being on a jury AND accuse you of something I didn't do.

Yes, this is an internet forum where people join into discussions. If you want a private one, or one to be between only 2 of you, messaging is the best way.

You said "if you were a juror" to Bill, I replied "if you were a lawyer" to you. Speaking of assumptions, maybe another edit is called for since I in no way indicated I "get the idea that I asked Bill to pretend he is a lawyer".

him guilty but they couldn't prove it beyond a reasonable doubt. You then brought in being on a jury.

It can be difficult to track who said what but look up this subthread to...
http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1014&pid=1089229
Then you whooshed it over to being a juror here
http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1014&pid=1089298

And now you try to move it again to "More importantly, hoy won't say whether you think he raped her or not" which has nothing to do with my original post and point in this subthread of it is very possible to strongly suspect something happened yet not have enough proof to prove it.

It can be difficult, hope this helps you understand this subthread.

It is very possible to strongly suspect something happened yet not have enough proof to prove it. Why do you not address this point?

Interesting how you claim you know how I believe about this case, continue with the unfounded idea that I said you asked Bill to pretend he is a lawyer, and that you have never addressed my point beyond saying Bill could not be a juror which you now claim was not goal post moving but somehow answering whether or not it is possible to strongly suspect something happened yet not have enough proof to prove it.

At least you went back on your claim "you said on the internet that you strongly think he is a rapist", edited that out.

Funny how you don't address the first point, yet continue to make assumptions and claims and get upset when I call you on them.

He says his career has been negatively impacted but his career has hardly suffered. Heisman winner, #1 draft pick. I hope it's tossed out of court on that basis. He's also been in subsequent trouble for shoplifting and for some code-of-conduct thing where he yelled a sexist vulgar something (I can't recall what it was) on campus. This is a typical bullying move.
