Mayor Jim Fouts - City of Warren

A Michigan mayor who recently lost a lawsuit brought by the ACLU after he banned an atheist “reason station” on city property is now distributing “In God We Trust” posters from his office at City Hall.

According to C&G News, Warren Mayor Jim Fouts is offering the posters free of charge to the public despite the city paying $100,000 in costs, damages and fees after Fouts refused to allow the atheist station to be set up next to a “prayer station” in the City Hall atrium.

Fouts made news in July last year when he defended his decision, while comparing atheists to Nazis and the Ku Klux Klan.

“The city has certain values that I don’t believe are in general agreement with having an atheist station, nor in general agreement with having a Nazi station or Ku Klux Klan station,” Fouts said at the time. “I cannot accept or will not allow a group that is disparaging of another group to have a station here.”

when most people don't vote, nut jobs like this from the American Taliban end up in office. Granted, it is likely that a repub is going to usually get elected in this "Reagan Democrat" suburb where they often vote against their own best interests but that is why in those cases Democrats need to vote in the repub primary for the least crazy candidate or you get a shit-stain like this the mayor's office.

Just think what the community could have used the money for instead. I would start a recall or call on him to resign because he wasted taxpayer money.

Eisenhower's 2 big errors were both committed at the behest of pushy, influential Christians: adding "under God" to the pledge and changing the inclusive US motto from "e pluribus unum" to the secular, devisive "In God We Trust."

Those 2 travesties count heavily against all the positives of his administration because of the damage they continue to cause.

is a typical post WWII sprawlburg of Detroit. An ugly mish-mash of houses and down-trodden retail corridors that have seen better days. As a metro-Detroit resident, you're not missing much by avoiding it.

during the Second World War Wehrmacht soldiers wore this slogan on their belt buckles, although there was wide variation in the degree of support among the Wehrmacht for the Nazi party.

He looks like he'd have a bright future in the movies, if they were still making movies about the Third Reich.

I know all about Godwin's Law and I know he had nothing to do with Hitler...but I have never seen anyone who screamed to me "this guy looks like a fucking Nazi!" as much as he does.
