DENVER (AP) A judge has ordered the man accused of setting off a small explosion last month near a Colorado NAACP officeheld without bond pending a hearing next week.
Thaddeus Murphy, wearing a white tee shirt, said nothing during Friday's hearing before Magistrate Judge Michael Hegarty. The next hearing for the 44-year-old carpenter is set for Wednesday.

Instead, Murphy was in a rage over his financial problems and was targeting his accountant's office, according to court documents filed Friday.

However, Henry Allen, the president of the NAACPs Colorado Springs chapter, seemed highly skeptical of Murphys motives during an interview with the Los Angeles Times on Friday.
Allen said there hasnt been a tax office connected to the building on South El Paso Street in nearly 20 years.

(298,021 posts)being in a position where you tried to bomb the NAACP and it was dud but you were caught and had to come up with a story, so if convicted the sentencing wouldn't go so hard on you.
