Wisconsin Gov. Walker refuses to answer evolution question
By SCOTT BAUER, Associated Press | February 11, 2015 | Updated: February 11, 2015 4:21pm

MADISON, Wisconsin (AP) — Likely 2016 presidential candidate Scott Walker refused to say Wednesday whether he believes in the theory of evolution, dodging that question and several others about foreign policy after delivering a speech about global trade in London.

"I'm going to punt on that one as well," said Wisconsin's Republican governor when asked about evolution at the end of an hour-long appearance at the prestigious Chatham House think tank. "That's a question a politician shouldn't be involved in one way or the other. So I'm going to leave that up to you."

Walker, an evangelical Christian and the 47-year-old son of a Baptist preacher, also declined to answer a series of questions about foreign policy, including how the West should combat the Islamic State group, whether the U.S. should arm forces in Ukraine and whether it's wise for Great Britain to remain in the European Union.

"I don't think it's polite to respond on policy in the United States when you're in a foreign country," Walker said when asked about Islamic State. "That's certainly something I'll answer in the future."

and he wont admit how life got here in the first place.

Scott's job for the Koch's is to eliminate the middle class entirely and destroy the environment as quickly as possible.

His unwillingness to admit that 2+2=4 should disqualify him from running.

not a sensible question. It's sort of like asking, "Do you believe that up is up and down is down?"

For all that the word theory is generally appended in front of the word evolution, there is nothing theoretical about the concept.

Do you believe in gravity? Do you believe the earth rotates around the sun? Two more absolute facts. To offer the possibility that there can be any doubt about such things is to live in some sort of fantasy land.

What a loser. It is simply amazing to me that a country of this stature has reached the point where someone of his character and intellect (or lack of both) could even be considered as "viable".

Does he believe in anything other than his own fitness for the Presidency?

Walker takes the biscuit as he talks about cheese
Megan Murphy
| Feb 11 22:53

Scott Walker, governor of Wisconsin and one of the early frontrunners in a crowded field of possible Republican presidential candidates, was expected to discuss foreign policy in an appearance on Wednesday at London’s best known foreign policy think tank.

Instead he talked a lot about cheese.

Mr Walker declined to opine on a wide range of international affairs, from whether the UK should stay in the European Union, to the current turmoil engulfing Greece and Ukraine to how to combat terror groups like the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant at a Chatham House event.

Emphasising that his four-day trip to London was a trade mission, not a political one, the governor repeatedly said he did not think it would be “polite” to comment on foreign policy, to the surprise of even the event’s moderator, Justin Webb from BBC Radio 4.

He also kicked off a political firestorm by refusing to say whether he believed in evolution. (He doesn’t).

negatively (which he may do in the US) he would have been
the laughing stock in England.

On the other hand I give him credit for declining to discuss
foreign policy while in another country. Was it not McCain, who
got blasted for that in Syria? It is against unwritten rules to
contradict your country's policies while outside of it.

So, actually he was very clever to stick to cheese only.

while he plans to cut the UW budget by $300 million:

When asked how the university was going to balance the budget after such a drastic cut, Walker answered, "Maybe it's time for faculty and staff to start thinking about teaching more classes and doing more work." ...Does he think lazy professors are costing the university $150 million dollars a year?

that evolution does fail in some way. I mean, you could use him as evidence to the contrary.

His governing skills, intellectual capacity and propensity to be a stooge, or minion for the Koch's rather than a real Governor, all bring his status as "evolved" in any way to question.

And what that thing he seems to be staring at all the time? The way his eyes are focused it seems that there is some invisible object dangling about two or three feet in front of his face.

Nixon's Milk Scandal -- My husband reminded me of National Lampoon's Missing White House Tapes from way back when. One of the skits had Nixon on trial and he was asked about Watergate. He says, "I don't want to talk about that. I want to talk about the milk."
