And I suspect the final Senate vote will happen before Jones is seated. I would advocate some political theater by going to the Capital and explaining why the tax plan is a bad idea and demanding his Senate seat. He should prepare a speech now.

This was part of the strategy, that a Democratic governor would appoint another Dem.
But the seat will be up for grab next November. Franken term would have lasted until 2020.
Obviously, no such thinking went with Conyers where the Michigan pug will leave the seat open until next November.
