(14,680 posts)last night and at least 2 emergency alerts by phone and we are
in a community at least 25 miles from the fire.
I, also, read Ventura County has multiple disaster plans set up
for many kinds of emergencies that could happen.
Time to replenish your emergency supplies and go over your family's disaster plans.

(430 posts)Here in Sonoma, we are beginning the clean up from our disastorous fires a month ago. A few lessons we've learned so far;
1. Take lots of pictures of your home and property. Scan all important documents, and if you have plans for your home, get those scanned. Send to cloud, or email to yourself. These will help a lot in the crucial inventories that must be done for insurance.
2. Decide ahead of time what you must take if you have to evacuate. You may have some time to gather those things.
3. Keep in touch as much as you can with everyone in your community. News and updates are so important.
4. Know that most people are good and kind and want to be helpful.
