Nov 27, 2017
Excerpt:
Democrat Ben Jealous will pitch his plan for a state-based universal health care program next Wednesday during a Baltimore rally with U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders, who has pushed a similar Medicare for all plan in Congress.
Jealous, the former head of the NAACP who is running for governor, has promised a Maryland plan that would provide health insurance to every state resident.
His campaign did not provide details Monday on how the plan would work or how to pay for it, saying that would be released shortly before the 7:30 p.m. rally Dec. 6 at the Notre Dame of Maryland Universitys campus.

(7,143 posts)There are quite a few new enrollees in Maryland, thanks to the ACA. Medicare will not pay all of the expenses currently covered by Medicaid. Is there a proposed provision to help them make up the difference?

(19,429 posts)How much would the Medicare tax deduction from paychecks increase?
How much would the means-tested Medicare part B premium increase, and how would it be collected from non-Social Security subscribers? (currently it is deducted straight out of social security payments)
Would there be a new set of Medicare Advantage plans and what would the premiums be?
For those not on a Medicare Advantage plan, would there be new Medigap plans to cover expenses Medicare A and B don't cover, and what would the premiums be?
How would Medicare Part D change and what would be the premiums for under 65?
Contrary to myth, seniors do not enjoy free health care.
