I have spent ...

A good portion of my Friday "debating" the:

If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business, you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen.
- President Obama

comment.

I have come to the conclusion that the rwing/anti-(President) Obama crowd; either have reading comprehension deficits, are willfully ignorant, or are just middle-schoolers, refusing to be wrong.

I have repeatedly responded that the romney campaign (and the "liberal media" keeps repeating) an out of context phrase ... and pointed out, cut and pasted, wrote out, the entire quote.

But they just ignore it.

Here is my favorite exchange though:

Fred B. (FreddieB) wrote:
Funny how when the President goes off prompter, the next days are spent having everyone say "What he really meant was..."

My response:

No, Fred ... the next days are spent having everyone repeating what he ACTUALLY said.

I've learned that the hard way. At least on the internets, It's best to just ignore the wingnuts or at least put out the truth with your opinion and then ignore their spin - so others who are lurking will get the facts. They are willfully ignorant and will never, ever, admit they are wrong even when proven wrong beyond a reasonable doubt. All they know is hate and they have plenty of right-wing propaganda to reinforce their preconceived opinions. Don't waste your time getting into a back and forth. Believe me, it's not worth your time. If they can't respect your opinion even when backed up with the facts it's best to just end it and move on.
