FROM MOORES HOMETOWN: "This is Republican town, man. He could have killed Obama & we wouldn't care"

FROM ROY MOORE’S HOMETOWN: “This is Republican town, man. He could have killed Obama, & we wouldn't care."

Outside the local convenience store, a woman who gave her name as Carol said she has known Moore her whole life and called him a good man. Carol doesn't believe Moore's accusers, but she said even if the allegations are true, "there's a thing called grace — God's grace," noting that the allegations are decades old.

Inside the store, a man who declined to give his name said, "This is Republican town, man. (Moore) could have killed Obama, and we wouldn't care."

Cox, of the Greenwood Baptist Church, said as long as Moore is on the ballot, the GOP candidate would have his support.

"Everything else," Cox said, "is for the Lord to sort out."

Or maybe the people Shirley Jackson was thinking of when she wrote The Lottery.

We're moving past partisanship and into pure tribalism.

President or not. I still thought you people drew the line at children. Ends up you people truly have no line.

This is the most extreme form of tribalism I've seen from this Party to date.

There is nothing they hate more than Democrats. Satan could appear, announce he is a Republican and those people would proudly and emphatically support him.

We are wasting our time trying to appeal or reason with them.

that kind of thinking in the 21st century. It's hard to believe they had any type of education. The only reading they may do seems to be the bible. They don't even grasp the hypocrisy of their thinking. Seems Moore may still win and they will also remain trumpers no matter what he says or does.

Probably just out of HS or early 20's. Having recently moved from TX, they were talking about different parts of the country and the guy said he'd never traveled out of the COUNTY. This was a place that was 45 mins. from Birmingham and 1:15 from Atlanta. Couldn't wrap her head around it, but he said he'd like to see the Gulf someday.

A really insular place. 2 of the first 3 questions a newcomer is asked are "What church do you go to?" and "Who are your people?" Just couldn't imagine any "unchurched" outsiders.

Have lived in Germany and back to TX twice since then, now in GA. Still have a hard time wrapping our heads around the South and the USA for that matter.

no wonder their thinking is so narrow. I live in the north and only traveled through or visited southern states. Just traveling through I encountered a different way of life and thinking. I'm afraid it will never change but I thought Georgia was at least slowly changing.

taking their guns and bibles away from them. In exchange for their loyalty, the republicans pushed for offshoring from the 1970's up to last year.
