I've been quite shocked with all these revelations

of men exposing their private parts to women. In my part of the world you'll find street perverts showing their parts but I've never heard of co-workers or employers doing this. I actually called some friends and they said the same.

When we were young teenagers there was a man who would ride a bicycle up and down the street displaying women's underwear. He'd then go into the alley and display his parts. Our group of teenage girls would be between the fence and a particular tree practicing our gymnastics moves. The tree wasn't far from the alley.
We laughed him to scorn teasing him about his 'Con-like' itsy bitsy teeny weenie parts. We're not sure if that is why he disappeared because we heard that one of our friend's mother also called the police.

Guys would come on to you and of course many tried to or touched people i know, but it wasn't this exhibitionist shit. I find that really weird.

Just showing you was the point. I don't think you had to like it. Laughter was probably an acceptable response. One of the treatments they do is to have a flasher expose himself to a row of women that give no reponse at all, just a poker face. The lack of reaction is a downer and they lose the desire.

Sun Nov 12, 2017, 12:50 PM
Nov 2017

there are guys who think that showing a woman their junk will cause that woman to be attracted to them. I'm not talking about the pervs on the street who probably want to intimidate and unnerve women, which doesn't necessarily work - I got flashed once in broad daylight in downtown Minneapolis and I can assure you I was more amused than intimidated or unnerved. I told the guy, "Is that all you've got?" and walked away chuckling.

Street flashers are gross, but what's even more baffling is the men who text dick pics to women they know, or invite them to someplace private and then expose themselves. Is this supposed to be a pickup technique? Are women supposed to be so impressed with the guy's magnificent manhood that they become uncontrollably aroused and fall all over him? Ick.

Guys: Get a clue. We don't want to look at your dick. We don't want to see pictures of your dick. Seeing your dick will not make us want to become more closely acquainted with it. Exhibiting your private parts is pervy and weird and it will not make us love you or even f*ck you. Just don't do it.

in work or social settings seems very weird to me, but I'm 73. Over the years I've seen it on streets, subways, trains, airports, remote hallways, etc. But not otherwise.

What's even weirder to me is the idea of taking a picture of your genitals and sending it to someone who hasn't asked you for it.

I have no explanation for it, hoping someone does.

And, frighteningly, it was my elementary school's band teacher exposing himself to elementary school students. He was caught doing this not at school, but in a nearby neighborhood. I remember being very disturbed by it, and it seems the whole school was on edge for a while. With so many cases of this coming out now, I wonder just how much more common it was back then, and we just didn't know about it.

Sun Nov 12, 2017, 01:20 PM

and then asked us to sit on his face. I stepped on his face. Pretended I didn't see him down there, backed up, got his neck and his nose with my shoes, and then said "Excuse me". He eventually was told to seek help - instead of being fired - he went to rehab ...as if going to rehab is the fix for what ails these sick fucks.

One who cornered women in supply closets and such. He once cornered a young woman who had been a victim of incestuous rape by her father. She had no sense of self and stood no chance against this boss. She got stronger and went on to be a person who could fight back. The company allowed the asswipe to retire - turned out he was moved to our branch because of similar behavior at his old job.

I was a C cup in middle school and took to wearing loose clothing to keep grown men from hitting on me. Their leers and insulting remarks, remarks they thought clever and complimentary, are damaging to a young girl.

Young girls will wear tight clothing as they mature and test their own boundaries, laying claim to their power over their body - a rite of passage, so to speak, that doesn't need nor welcome the actions of predators. She's neither asking for nor inviting your attention - she's learning to own her body. And if you're a grown man eyeing a young girl - you're a predator. You're creepy. Stop blaming the young girl for your sickness.

I've heard men make comments like we can now lust for so and so legally because they turned 18 today. Which, by the way, isn't funny at all, and it lets me know you're a predator who was already lusting for a child but now feels comfortable enough to brag about it. You're creepy.

I get so sick of men who use the lie that times were different back then. No, they weren't. It was always wrong to rape, always wrong to sexually harass, always wrong to touch a woman without permission - the only thing that has changed is our voices as women holding you accountable for the rules of behavior that were always in place but all men didn't follow. Decency always demanded men not rape or harass or grope. Respect always demanded that.

I could go on and on but I'll stop for now.

His remedy for men who exposed their man parts to you was to just point at them and giggle. Thinking about it now, the fact that he had a comedy bit about men exposing their genitalia to women thirty years ago, just tells me that this sort of thing has always been commonplace. But, I think Robin's solution to the situation was a pretty good one.

In fact, the topic came up during out golf round last weekend. The oldest of the group, a 60+ year old man asked a similar question. That is, had any of us heard of similar situations before.

In hindsight, the craziest of the group said nothing, but I had never heard of this, and I have heard some cringe worthy stories after nights of drinking. Now, maybe because it is just so strange, and the person doing this knows it is so strange, that the behavior buried and never verbalized.

Seriously, we couldn't figure out what the offender thought would happen.

But regular as clockwork, Mr. Thompson walked out to pick up his paper in his boxer shorts. He was quite obese and we kids all called him Butterball. The lady who lived across the street was enraged by his daily activity in his boxers. I heard her more than once chew him out for doing that but I am pretty sure that is as far as it went. At least we kids knew to make fun of him and I don’t think a one of us was threatened by him. We laughed and laughed at him. And shouted, “Hey, Butterball!” This was in the 1950s in Jackson, MS.

I've seen lots of women who are "exhibitionists", but not many men.

When I was extremely fit in my 20's, I definitely received more attention from women when I showed more skin (such as a public swimming poll). I usually dressed in baggy clothes back then because I didn't like that kind of "superficial" attention.

Allegedly, the "Nigerian Prince" emails are deliberately designed to be obviously fraudulent to all but the dumbest and most naive of potential marks. The fraudsters are not interested in communicating with intelligent and wary people.

Similarly, this sexual come on would turn off all but the most randy women desperate for a little meaningless casual sex. That is, if it actually works at all.

Sun Nov 12, 2017, 02:10 PM
Nov 2017

I was molested twice, and raped as an adult once. So those might technically qualify as "unwanted sight of dick".

But I've never had a guy just randomly show me his junk or threaten/offer to.

It does seem to be a masculine dominance behavior to put your package in people's faces, though, at least from observation of straight-male on straight-male behavior.

This dude at WORK would walk to to guys and start air-humping their faces. I think he knew he'd get an elbow to the groin before the HR call if he did it to me, because he and I had an understanding -- no touching or propositions. But he had no problems doing it to them in front of me, and they only protested after he left and didn't want to report. I asked if they wanted me to report what I was seeing because they were upset, so it would be on me not them, but they said no. I offered suggestions based on how I'd handled inappropriate behavior without involving authorities, but they didn't think anything that had worked for me as a female would work for them as a man.

I even suggested just going all out with an exaggerated "Oh sweetie, you know I'll take good care of you when we get home. Have *patience*!" Nope.

They said even a direct discussion outside of earshot but within sight was out of the question, because they were afraid they'd hit him.

If men themselves don't know what to do about a guy at work putting their crotch in their faces, it's no wonder some women get shown unwanted inappropriate dick.
