Well, you can't call it ObamaCare, and it's certainly not the Affordable Care Act.
The premium for the plan I had this year has increased 91.5%. For the arithmetically challenged, that's almost double. From $1,234 per month to $2,364 per month. Guess what plan I'm not getting?
Least expensive plan is $1,758 per month for family of 2 and is the most I will have ever paid for health insurance. And, yes, it's tempting to give it a pass. Get meds from Canada and hope for the best medically speaking. Not great for people in their 60s.
BTW, the most expensive plan is $3,183 monthly, with projected total out of pocket expenses of more than $40,000. Of course, we don't know what would have been the options had this regime not attempted to destroy the ACA, but I think it's fair to call it the Unaffordable Care Act now.
And, no, I don't know what I'm going to do.

It is still Obamacare to me until folks stol signing up in the tens of millions for actual good minimum standard care and Medicare expansion ends...etc.

(10,749 posts)I did for one year, but that's it. It's not likely I will in the future. Medicare in a few years, I guess, but there too, who the fuck knows what will happen. Maybe I'll defy my family's longevity. One can only hope, hey?

(16,095 posts)not "access" for all, becasue yes, anyone with money can buy a policy, but many (most?) can't afford the price tag along with such luxuries as paying rent/mortgage and eating.
We need single payer, one way or another.
