They aren't Trumpian enough for the now minority of idiots that support Trump and if they tack back to merely the far right (but not Trumpain right), they are abandoned as "not Trump!"

.... in their alternate universe when GOP loses it's because the candidates "weren't conservative enough." IOW Americans want nothing more than to vote for far-right troglodytes, and so if the Republican choices aren't far-right enough they....

.... that's right, they pick the Democrats in protest!

So they're saying a kid who demands a 3-scoop ice cream cone and is offered a choice between a 2-scoop cone or a handful of broccoli is going to pick the broccoli to "send a message."
